It’s a known fact that Hyderabad’s Streams/Ponds/Lakes/Tankbund/River Musi are contaminated with pollutants.. mainly sewage from the growing city.

We took up the issue of sewage entering into KBR lake in 2023 and @HMWSSBOnline did a temporary fix but instead of ensuring the storm water drain was freed of sewage, they diverted the stormwater drain itself to the next downstream lake. This has stopped storm water entering KBR from one major inlet.

We have also highlighted a similar plight of a crucial pond off Road No 5 Jhills whose capacity was reduced and original storm water inlet diverted and inspite of all the rains this season the pond hasnt filled up.

We realised even at the highest point - Jubileehills the contamination is occurring by sewage lines connected to storm water drains.

We have brought it to the notice of all involved officials from @HMWSSBOnline @HMDA_Gov @TelanganaFD @Comm_HYDRAA for the respective issues..

However there is absolute silence on such a critical problem.. why?

Now that you want to “develop” Musi on the lines of RFD’s abroad… Is this the same way London/Dubai/Singapore addresses its issues? By closing tickets and not fixing issues?

We cannot waste a single drop of Godavari Waters by mixing it with this filth that you have been allowing deliberately to fill our waterbodies. A point will come when you will be forced to address this issue.

For the drainage works of major companies like Anand, Anuhar, and Pooja Constructions, Congress leaders in Manikonda and officials of the Narsingi Circle have allegedly colluded to dig up a road that was laid just six months ago, causing immense hardship and misery to the local residents. While the public pays their hard-earned money in the form of taxes, officials who draw their salaries from those funds seem to have no sense of responsibility. Instead, lured by the corrupt money allegedly offered by large companies, they are causing inconvenience to the public and misusing taxpayers’ money.

To the Commissioner Madam and the Zonal Commissioner, who claim to visit one ward every day to understand the problems faced by the people—can they not see this corruption? Even knowing that the rainy season was approaching, how could they allow such work to begin? Why did they not question why the drainage systems in many low-lying areas had not been cleaned? Why is there so much negligence?

In the park located on Road No. 6, Alkapoor, stones and mud are scattered all over the walking track, and heaps of soil can be seen in the middle of the park, clearly reflecting poor maintenance. Senior officials claim that funds are available for the maintenance of parks, but the officials of Narsingi Circle-45 say there are no funds. Instead, they continue spending money on parks that are already in good condition while neglecting the remaining parks.

Although a restroom facility is available in this park, the lack of proper maintenance is causing inconvenience to walkers. Due to the absence of a water supply in the restroom, foul odors are creating discomfort for visitors.

Residents and walkers are requesting the higher authorities to intervene immediately and appoint a supervisor for park maintenance. Yesterday, the issue of waste lying on the 60-foot road connecting Sri Venkateswara Colony and YSR Colony was brought to the attention of the authorities. However, not a single effort has been made to clean the area so far.

The senior official in the Narsingi Division-45 Sanitation Department appears more focused on pleasing higher authorities and serving them like an attendant rather than fulfilling the responsibility of serving the public. Even when complaints are made, the sanitation officials are in no position to respond or take action. Despite failing to perform their duties properly, they remain indifferent even when ordinary citizens take the initiative to report problems.

Only when matters reach higher authorities, and there is a fear of action being taken against them, do the lower-level staff respond and carry out their work promptly. The attitude of the officials here reflects the saying, “As the king, so are the subjects.”

The Cyberabad Commissioner frequently tells the media that he visits one ward every day to understand public issues. However, what is the benefit of such visits if nothing changes? A thorough investigation is needed into the entire episode of tendering process and subsequent execution of alleged UGD under the guise of Storm Water Drain at Rd no.30 Alkapur township under @Dc45_Narsingi @DCNarsingi as was done by erstwhile Manikonda Municipality in the past in respect of TEAM4 builders near Lanco hills.
