Narendra Modi’s autocratic style of functioning is nurtured by the power hungry bureaucrats. He has relied on these greedy Babus and the quid pro quo comes at the cost of Democracy. There are plethora of examples showing special privileges in appointments and extension of tenures/Service periods of the heads and deputies of the CBI, ED, ECI, NIA, Secretaries to the GOI, DGPs and even MDs of the State/Union PSUs. Babus have also been given tickets and appointed as Ministers on their election.

Disgracefully, an Ex-General also jumped into this right wing politics and communalism. Judges have also shown their keenness to contest Elections and hold political offices. They all seem to want their share of the spoils ‼️

Assured of Baksheesh, the greedy Babus ‘apply their minds’ for Modi regime. It results in interpretion of the subtext of the laws, rules and regulations in a manner that suits Modi’s requirements and enables him to extend his clout.

The latest and the most startling example of knighting the favourite bureaucrats is the appointment of Ajit Doval as the National Security Advisor (NSA), for the third consecutive term. When Doval was first appointed as NSA in 2014, he was 69 years old. At 79, he is appointed for the third consecutive tenure and invested with the rank of a Cabinet Minister. So much is he indispensable for Modi ‼️

Even the Supreme Court’s judges, Election Commissioners retire at the age of 65 and the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Force retire at 62. But Doval has been going on ‼️

The Chinese took away 4,064 sq. kms. of land by killing twenty Indian soldiers in June 2020, the RDX laden car blew the Army convoy in Pulwama and the source of RDX not known till date, the Chinese aggression at Doklam and Arunachal Pradesh, continue unchecked, Manipur burns but Ajit Doval continues to get promotions, unquestioned.

Despite China proving to be Modi’s Achilles heel and its influence increasing everyday, Doval continues on his post.

Are Modi’s Babus more important than the Nation and its strategic interests ❓
The Bureaucrats lack the sense of appreciation of the WILL OF THE PEOPLE and are NOT AT ALL ACCOUNTABLE for the same. They merely know to interpret the rules in such a way that saves their skin first rather than achieve the desired output for the people. The means become end for the Babus as they learn to draw benefits by keeping the processes prolonged (Parkinson’s Law).
