Skkim was added to India's map via 36th constitutional Amendment in 1975 during Mercury-Mangal bhukti of India. Today, as the first ever BJP Government takes oath in West Bengal, it is natural for all of us to remember Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and his everlasting contribution to the nation and West Bengal in particular. No stone will be left unturned to fulfil his vision.

🚨INDIA OIL STOCKS EXPLAINED WITH NUMBERS :

There is confusion around 25 days vs 74 days. Here is the factual breakdown.

India consumes roughly 5 to 5.5 million barrels of crude oil per day.

Commercial Stocks (25 Days)
These are everyday stocks held by oil companies like IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL in refineries, tanks, pipelines, and ships,totaling about 100 million barrels of crude plus refined fuels.

They cover roughly 25 days of national consumption (crude ~5 million bpd) and can extend to 40-45 days in disruptions like Strait of Hormuz issues.

Refinery crude stocks alone provide 10-15 days, with fuels adding 7-10 days.​

Strategic Reserves (Taking Total to 74 Days)

SPR facilities (e.g., Visakhapatnam, Mangalore, Padur) hold ~5.33 million metric tonnes (~39-40 million barrels) underground, covering ~9.5 days alone.

Combined with commercial stocks, refineries, and products, this reaches 74 days

Now the Hormuz risk.

About half of India’s crude traditionally transits Hormuz. That is a route risk, not a supply disappearance risk.

Diversification matters. Russia supplies roughly 30 to 40 percent in recent years and has again signalled to supply additional oil to India.

Additional volumes come from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, US, Africa and Latin America. India is moving from 27 to 40 countries.

Cargoes can be rerouted via longer sea lanes, pipelines inside Saudi and UAE systems, or replaced through spot purchases.

US has come to rescue Strait of Hormuz given world's 20% oil supply would be disrupted otherwise

Conclusion.

Worst case price volatility is possible. Physical shortage risk is low to zero.
