It is tick season.
Lyme is the most common infection transmitted by ticks in Canada but be on the lookout for Babesia and Anaplasma - two infections that 🇨🇦's currently know little about & are under-diagnosed.
Important point: "blacklegged ticks feed on & are transported by migratory birds, meaning there is a possibility of encountering an infective blacklegged tick almost anywhere in Ontario."

It is also among the 10 leading causes of death in the country, taking the lives of approximately 3,500 people each year.
Get your #FluShot this year to protect yourself and your loved ones. #FluShotFriday
You should consider getting your flu shots. We’re seeing flu cases rise quickly and the predominant strain right now is influenza A H3N2 which is contained in the new vaccine. Meaning it looks like a good match.

To minimize the questions that pharmacists are bombarded with right now, allow me to summarize:
-If you're between 18-60 and not immuno-compromised, the benefits of a 4th dose are minimal.
-1st, 2nd, and 3rd doses continue to have proven benefit in preventing serious outcomes
REMINDER: Nurses & nursing students, we’re just 1 day away from our Virtual Nursing Career Open House!
