“ I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
- Stephen Grellet
@TheDunkCentral@ToTheBaha@TheHeatCentral Hypotheticals have no place in sports. Is it fun to imagine - of course. But it’s imaginary and so the discourse can’t discuss it as a reality.
Only Ted Williams gets a pass imo. He’s prob the goat. A healthy Embiid doesn’t exist. It’s an unfortunate part of any game. Ask D.Rose
@JacobsFieldRBW In a few years the difference would be staggering. Just because you don’t understand inflation doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Run the math and see what happens in a decade.
@finkn23 In 10 years this wouldn’t be the case and everyone would be making a lot less money while the owners bags get bigger, but you’re missing that point because the owners are playing you like a fiddle.
@2022yep1@TheHurricaneBen You don’t need rules to create incentives. Incentives are dictated by the free market. Remember those deals you’re talking about are agreed by the owners and players. Nobody says they need to guarantee everything, but if they don’t the player will go to another team that will.
@abosoxfan22 Thank you dude! Someone who gets it. I’m not a hater of billionaires, but this is some bullshit and it’ll hurt the game and the players in the long run more than help it.
@DamonDawg Congrats on being duped by the owners. This is what they want. For fans to beg for a salary cap and make the game “more competitive”It’s nonsense. Now all that happens is teams are more profitable and have an excuse to not invest further in players.
@BrandonKoretz Stop crying man. I’m a Marlins fan and I’m fine with all of this. Keep it a salary cap free game and let the businesses run how they please. The Yankees did this years ago. Eventually it ends. I love this for baseball and the players. Only rule we need is to end blackout games.
@igetscrewed@KristinNobleNH Id imagine that’s the case. The money going into every governmental program is coming from thin air. The Fed itself runs a 2 trillion dollar deficit.
@ChefTrillie I will say - I gave you shit for hating on Herro. You were ultimately right and if this happens you’re a wizard. Credit where credit is due.
@johnjanis@JoeCarlasare It wouldn’t be luck. He put his money where his mouth is and his reputation on the line while enduring multiple cycles, and he will come out a winner. That’s not luck, brother.
