@USEmbassySA Among adults aged 15โ49 (the most relevant group for PrEP and highest-risk populations), incidence is 0.5 per 100 person-years in 2025 under status-quo conditions, continuing a long-term decline.
@USEmbassySA The absolute risk reduction is about 2% to 2.4%, meaning it would be necessary to medicate 40 to 44 paper for 1 year to prevent 1 infection.
Like the Covid mRNA vaccine, it's a great business model.
Can't say it's efficient though.
SAHPRA granted full/conditional registration (under Section 15 of the Medicines and Related Substances Act) for the Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine on 25 January 2022, which was more than a year before the primary/study completion date of the pivotal Phase 3 trial (NCT04368728) on 10 February 2023.

and then bough majority of SU politicians through AIPAC. Israel now controls US Congress, US Senate and that idiotic president.
The US government are thieves that are elected by a dominant group mindset that believes theft against people from another country is acceptable.
It demonstrates that nothing in the US or elsewhere is safe from their greed.
FDR confiscated gold from US citizens in the 1930's
The US seized or force funds from any country it sanctions: Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba etc.
Now it has moved on to crypto. Why would anyone even think of investing in any crypto after this revelation?
Good for you in being able to use artificial intelligence - a large language model programmed to give specific responses, rather than relying on your own intelligence which has a high probability of being within one standard deviation of the average in South Africa.
You show an inability to comprehend what is a lie from an opinion based on fact.
It would be hard for Africa to follow the Chinese model.
And for the same reason, India cannot replicate the Chinese success story.
China and Singapore success is based on three factors:
meritocracy
zero tolerance for corruption
pragmatism.
(note: China is communist, Singapore is Capitalist)
African citizens have historically elected people based on personality - the Big Man syndrome.
Very few leaders are chosen on merit. Leaders n turn choose a government based on party loyalty (or as in South Africa - cadre deployment) rather than merit.
Corruption is rife in Africa. In China, even corrupt cabinet ministers ahem been executed.
There has to be a fundamental cultural change in Africa for it to rise.
The inept ANC government created a problem through its incompetence and corruption - an inability to enforce most laws.
It led to the collapse f infrastructure.
It also led to the influx of foreign nationals. Many foreigners have captured the "township economy" the informal sector that the local citizens lacked the business skills to develop.
But these foreigners have become the scapegoat for ANC incompetence - redirecting the anger of the marginalised away from their own shortcomings.
Yet, across African countries, the South African-owned Shoprite Group owns 3655 stores (including franchises) in 10 African countries.
The South African owned Pick and Pay Group owns 2200 stores in 7 African countries.
The South African owned Woolworths Group and the Spar Group owns hundreds of stores in African Countries.
Taken together, South African-owned retail stores collectively own a larger proportion of the retail economy in these countries than foreign nationals own of the South African "Township Economy".
Politicians in South Africa are using Xenophobia to distract unemployed South Africans away from their own mismanagement of the once-thriving economy.
@landbourainier Its the promotion of politically correct body positivity which is the celebration of an unhealthy individual with poor self control over lifestyle choices.
The normalisation of abnormal.
In 2012 and 2013, the price of Brent Crude oil was between US$ 100 to US110 per barrel. The ZAR price exchange rate was approx R10 to the US$. In Dec 2012, the price of ULP was R12 / litre.
The price of Brent Crude is once again in the same range, but the exchange rate 16.47.
In a simplistic calculation, allowing cost of production and fuel levies increasing proportionately, the price of unleaded petrol should not exceed R20/litre. The price of ULP today is R26/litre.
The ANC govt is over taxing people by about R6 /litre to fund their looting of state coffers.

These are some of the causes of hypertension.
But its much more than that.
Poor sleep, chronic stress, age-related arterial stiffness, sleep apnea, very little exercise (no movement), diet (metabolic syndrome). Even surgical procedures and anaesthesia has medium term effects on blood pressure - and there is no known treatment for post operative cognitive disorders.
Medication, supplements (like garlic, natto) helps to control symptoms, and in some cases actually reverse underlying physiological causes, but without addressing teh psychological and mental issues
If it was just food and/or the lack of exercise that is underlying cause of metabolic syndrome, then you have the right formula.
But metabolic syndrome is not just a dietary issue. Stress (high cortisol), poor sleep, excessive blue light from screens, high levels of inflammation - are all issues that must also be addressed for a proper remission.
