𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗗, 𝗦𝗕𝟭𝟵 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗦 ✨

SB19 playing in 1K capacity venues in the US will never be something to laugh at, nor something we should be ashamed of. If anything, those small rooms are part of the reason why we are here today.

From Where You At, to PAGTATAG!, to Simula at Wakas, SB19’s venues outside the Philippines, especially in the US, have remained relatively small. Fanwars often use this as an argument that SB19 “wasn’t brave enough to risk” bigger venues. But perhaps that was never the truth.

SB19 was never afraid to dream bigger. They simply did not always have the means to take that risk.

They did not have a multimillion-peso company behind them, with decades of experience or resources. 1Z Entertainment was only established in 2022. They were building everything from the ground up.

And sometimes, demand alone is not enough. You can have thousands willing to buy tickets, but without the resources or connections, and people willing to take the financial risk with you, bigger venues simply may not be possible.

So SB19 kept going anyway. They performed overseas in rooms that held hundreds when they could have waited for thousands. They took every opportunity they were given and made those rooms feel bigger than they actually were.

All they had was hope that someday, someone would be willing to take that risk with them.

Thankfully, someone did.

Live Nation believed in them enough to take that leap. From the Philippine Arena to SMDC Grounds, those risks became historic moments. The first Philippine Arena night sold out in seven hours, the second within two weeks, while the SMDC Grounds concert reached a massive 71,000 capacity and sold out.

That leap eventually opened another door: Lollapalooza.

And now, look at their journey in the US. The Simula at Wakas US shows, despite their smaller capacities, completely sold out, with some stops selling out within minutes. Their Thanksgiving Fan Meet sold out its first night in just four hours during presale, followed by a second night. They became the first P-POP Group to hold a two-night consecutive sold-out event in one venue in the US.

So yes, sometimes I also ask, “When will they finally take that bigger risk abroad?”

But I eventually realized something.

Maybe SB19 was never afraid of the risk. They simply did not always have the means to take it.

And one day, when SB19 finally walks into a much bigger venue abroad, I hope we never forget the 1K capacity rooms.

The small venues. The early tours. The nights when the dream still felt impossibly far away. The fans who showed up. The people who believed. The moments when there was no guarantee that any of this would happen.

Those rooms were never a measure of how small SB19 was. They were simply the size of the opportunity they had at the time. And somehow, they still made those rooms feel enormous.

So for the next world tour, I hope SB19 and the people around them finally get the opportunity to take that bigger leap. Not because they need to prove anything, but because they have earned the chance to discover just how far they can go.

And when that day comes, I hope we look back at those 1K capacity rooms with tears in our eyes.

Because those rooms were never embarrassing.

They were the beginning.

SB19 did not become brave when they finally had the means to take bigger risks. They were brave when they took the first step with almost nothing. When the world did not know their name. When the rooms were small. When the future was uncertain.

They believed in themselves before the world had enough reasons to believe in them.

They did not suddenly become unstoppable.

They were unstoppable from the very beginning.
