It is your duty to be rational, and truthful.
Lies are for boys, and women.
They lie all the time, to avoid being accountable.
Truth, no matter how painful, should be told.

Mr. @rigathi is so corrupt and incompetent. The best economic policy he can come up with is that Kenyans in the Diaspora will be paid 10 percent commission if they convince a foreign tourist to visit the Maasai Mara Game Park and 10 percent commission if one gets an order for Kenyan coffee or tea. He proposes to reduce staff at Kenyan embassies and high commissions so that the “aggressive Kenyans abroad” can take up their places.
What kind of lunacy is this?
Gachagua doesn’t understand how the world economy works and is proposing worse solutions than Kasongo.
Now I believe that Gachagua was demanding kickbacks when he was deputy president.
When a Kenyan company is looking for a CEO, the one mandatory minimum requirement is MASTERS DEGREE or higher! This has forced many Kenyans to acquire Masters Degrees even when they don’t know what Thesis they wrote as it was sub-contracted to their Professors.
And therein lies the tragedy. With all the Degrees, Kenyan companies have been unable to dig themselves out of holes.
In the US, Apple has just appointed John Ternus has its CEO. Ternus has only one Degree. Apple is valued at us$5Trillion … bigger than the entire GDP of Africa.
Of US 500 biggest companies, 188 don’t have any university degree.
We have put too much premium on Masters Degrees even instead of cognitive intelligence. We end up with charlatans as Ministers, PSes, CEOs & Presidential Advisors!

Over Sh629 billion worth of imports from China cannot be traced in KRA's 2025 import records, according to new data.
This comes after China's customs data showed it exported Sh1.3 trillion worth of goods to Kenya, while KRA recorded imports worth only Sh672 billion.

KRA will have to be banned from Nairobi Expressway.
Once upon a time, not in a distant past, there lived a man Kenyans called Jayden. They'll tell us why they baptized him as such.
A story is told of how he ran a very notorious liquor store at State House.
He, however, maintained he only drank uji.
The wine there is said to have been so maddening that at one point, it made the then Governor of Nairobi transfer the entire county to the President.
The following morning, the Governor woke up, rubbed his eyes, and thought he was still dreaming. Akajaribu jipiga kofi aone kama ataamka. Akaona haamki. The transfer was real. His county was gone.
To date, he blames the State House maddening wine.
• Lesson 1. Njohi ti ushūrū. Alcohol is not porridge.
Around that same period, the Nairobi Expressway was conceived. Deals were made. And contracts were awarded.
One lucky contractor was Cale Infrastructure Ltd.
The Government told Cale:
- Supply construction materials for the Expressway. Import whatever you need. Any Import Duty, VAT or Excise Duty arising, the Government of Kenya shall pay it for you. All of it.
Treasury was instructed to put it in writing. They obeyed. Cale pocketed the letter.
The materials arrived. Import taxes came to a cool 5.7 billion shillings.
Every time KRA demanded tax, Cale simply brandished Treasury's letter.
KRA would look at it, wave the trucks through. And wish them a safe journey.
All this while, KRA was quietly recording.
Then politics happened. Government changed hands.
A man who neither drinks anything nor smokes nothing moved into State House.
The famous liquor store was demolished. Walevi wa statehouse panicked. Sasa tukifanya makosa tutamlaumu nani na pombe imemwagwa?
One afternoon in 2023, while KRA was taking coffee at Times Tower, they remembered the 5.7 billion.
They rushed to check their records. No payment had been received.
Haraka haraka. They wrote to Cale.
- Hello Cale. We have not forgotten you. You remember the import taxes? Kindly send us our 5.7 billion. ASAP.
Cale director thought his eye glasses had been hacked. 5.7 Billion? He removed them. He saw the same mad numbers live.
He replied.
- People of KRA, we told you Treasury was the one paying. Attached is their commitment letter. Please chase Treasury, not us.
When KRA insisted and became firm, Cale ran court .
At the Tax Appeals Tribunal, Cale argued:
• My lords, the taxes are not in dispute. Who pays them is. Treasury promised to pay. But it did not pay. Here are the agreements. Here are the letters. Let KRA go after Treasury.
• KRA responded:
That agreement is between you and Treasury. We never signed it. Whether Treasury pays the tax or not is none of our business. It you that did the business. Pay the tax. Or pursue the Treasury to reimburse you.
The Tribunal agreed with KRA.
Cale ran to the High Court.
The shrewd judge listened carefully. Then delivered a lesson every taxpayer should remember.
Just because someone else promises to pay your taxes, does not automatically remove your legal obligation to KRA.
- Cale was ordered to pay the taxes.
- Or compel Treasury to pay them.
Case closed.
• Lesson 2.
- Never assume someone else's promise to pay your tax also binds KRA.
- If govt promises to pay your taxes, ask them to gazette it.
Protect Dangote with his investments at all costs. Kenya must move forward. Kenyans are poorer because they are consuming more than they can manufacture. Kenya needs more factories, more industries and more production, not court orders.
