Continuing with some 2013 #WUDC anniversary nostalgia, we have reached the @WUDC_Berlin arrival day, with happy participants, partially dancing in the notorious TU Lichthof, enjoying reg, waffles and glühwein. Meanwhile staff members showed more focused faces.

Ten years ago we spent Christmas Eve in Berlin working on @WUDC_Berlin. Adj Core members merrily graded judge tests, the rest of us enjoyed perhaps a little bit of silence before the storm.

Form of #WUDC protest moved to open discussion, with persons sitting on stage (see previous photo) speaking in turns with others and remaining audience quietly listening. Fanele is representing various official bodies. Protesters seem to mainly reject "pacifying by other blacks".

Roots of protest at #WUDC lie beyond this tournament but specific incidents have escalated the situation. Protesters demand public apology from chiefly white #WUDC2019 OrgCom. Finals venue is to be closed at 7pm (in 30').

Black South Africans (and allies) are staging protest at #WUDC open final, singing and dancing, protesting discrimination. Specific demands were not publicly announced. Participants are being moved out of auditorium. Motion has been released to finalist about 40' ago. #WUDC2019
