@symon_ben@purdy_eve @SocraticEM The analogy about pizza and a coke had me literally LOL'ing so loud on my mid-road trip podcast my wife gave me the embarassed side-eye.
@smora75@jmugele Perhaps we could get back to the actual purpose of the tweet though: a EM doc with passion and intelligence who had a terrible experience with someone I can only presume is dead inside or socially braindead.
@smora75@jmugele There's such an abundance of evidence to push back on your casual trash comment but I've got better things to do. Like... Anything. Thankfully most professionals are working hard to leave these kinds of antiquated views and tribalism behind. As the kids say "Later Felicia."
@KimiChernoby Physician satisfaction in their own workplaces. Absolutely does my head in to see the bad apples so clearly showing their lack of respect for other professions when I know so many amazing, respectful, supportive MDs who stand with HCPs of all stripes. Done.
@KimiChernoby * Gasp * using a term that you feel only doctors are deserving of. smh there are an ungodly number of studies which have shown advanced practice roles are equal to or better performing. There's research showing these advanced practice providers decrease MD workloads and improve 5
@KimiChernoby Another fun fact: other professionals agree with your concerns about resident pay. They'd be a lot more inclined to stand shoulder to shoulder if so many of your colleagues didn't think of the rest of us as mere mortals unworthy of advanced practice roles or *gasp* 3/
@KimiChernoby The comments some have made below about the audacity of other professions to use the term residency and fellowship are particularly rich. Fun fact: doctors are not nor should they be deciding what other professions scope of practice is or should be. 2/
@KimiChernoby This thread and the responses have done as much to expose the disdain and lack of respect many physicians have for advanced care roles of other professions as it had to illustrate the obvious issue of pay in American residency programs. SMH. 1/
@DGlaucomflecken Of course murica often had less wait time. You folks don't insure half the bloody country so you've got half the demand. If we didn't allow half of Canadians access you know what we'd have? Two minute waits for every specialist.
@chroniccarenurs @DGlaucomflecken Whereas I have an American uncle who lost absolutely everything he owned in his early sixties because he had to get a cabg but the insurance companies denied denied denied because it wasn't urgent enough...
