@DrMattThomas1 I hated obs anaesthesia as a reg. Most likely because it was 100% obs, day and night for months, in the region I trained. I rather enjoy it now as a boss.
Prof Sudlow.
Bracing for some epic science from another big deal UK scientist:
What can health data research uk and the British heart foundation data science centre do to support your research?

@MusiclyGiftedYo @ChrisSy49768465 @SpliceEye @Sorrelish@JacksonEflin@JayHulmePoet@stringlytyped Yep, random safety check. Frequently they’ll also check your indicators and brake lights are also working. You’ll get a fine if they aren’t (and not allowed to drive off if your tyres are bald).
@TiaraNFreeman @Sorrelish@JacksonEflin@JayHulmePoet@stringlytyped Pretty much fully automatic. I’ve only had one speeding ticket in the UK and that was a camera. Fine arrived in the post a couple of weeks later. Of note, I drove for 20 years in the UK and was pulled over once in that time.
@ACTINOSProject I was in the UK working a summer job after my first year of medical school - data collection at my local hospital. Was walking the wards that afternoon getting data, every TV was on BBC1 which had rolling footage. Saw the second plane hit on live TV.
@GongGasGirl Similar numbers to the main tertiary centre where I trained. 100 ICU beds. Just stupidly large. I decided early on I didn’t want a boss job there - impossible to really get to know people.
