Today is @Tesla 2nd Qtr Financial Results day and CAPEX along with cash flow and cash balance might be the story you will hear the most about … and for good reason.
The company is building all of the infrastructure needed to be able to offer AI, humanoid robots, advanced AI chips, AI training & compute and much more … most of which everyone will be talking about in 2028 … and you can see all of this happening today.

Tesla’s FSD v14 Lite on HW3 has 37% faster reaction times compared to v12.6.4. It’s really incredible what the @Tesla_AI team has done here. Bravo on such a great build. 👏👏👏
I also calculated AI4 v14.3.3 to be 33% faster than v14 Lite.

By the early 2010s, Elon Musk mindset was already helping SpaceX move much faster than many traditional aerospace companies.
The bigger lesson was not just about rockets. It was about how quickly a team can improve when it cuts bureaucracy and shortens the feedback loop.
Elon Musk approach has shown that innovation accelerates when ideas are tested, failures are learned from, and improvements happen rapidly. The ability to move fast, adapt, and continuously improve has become a defining part of modern aerospace development.
I was recently on the Two Guys, Two Weeks: Episode 9 podcast with @CernBasher and @pbeisel and this is an excerpt that might be of interest to everyone following Cybercab production and its integration into the @robotaxi fleet.
I know many people want to know why things are progressing at a rate many feel is slower than they would like and there is a degree of frustration among the @Tesla community regarding how the Robotaxi service is rolling out. In this clip, I offer up some of my thoughts as to why that might be the case.
Bottom line is that I believe there are 4 main factors that are at play and any one of these (or a combination) is what is driving the rollout of both the Cybercab inclusion into, and the overall rate of expansion, of the Robotaxi Service.

- WS sees free cash flow around -3.25B, my estimate is closer to -5B.
- Cash position according to WS ~$41B, think it could drop to @ $39B .
Capex guidance 2026 went last quarter from $20B to $25B … wouldn't shock me if it heads now toward $35 - 40B

On 16 July 2026, @Tesla hosted the 1st “Lithium Day” event at the Robstown, Texas, Lithium Refinery. This was on the same day as @SpaceX Starship Flight 13 (scrubbed) and although I was at Starbase, @SERobinsonJr (aka Elon Chron) was present & together we put together this video combining some drone video clips & images of the event.
The facility (part 1) is now complete & operational, taking Spodumene Concentrate 6 as inputs & LiOH as the output. This material is then shipped to Giga Texas for battery cathode & ultimately 4680 battery production!
The operational status announcement was formally made by Plant Manager Jason Bevan & Infrastructure VP Rodney Westmoreland Jr @RodneyWest336 to a crowd of local business owners, employees, special guests & state representative Denise Villalobos.
Battery VP @BonneEggleston was also on hand & spoke about newly filed patent update for the 100% full recycling process for batteries, & possible future expansions. This includes a Global Patent WO2026048253A1 which describes a new process for recycled batteries & manufacturing scrap!
Overall, a great event to hear first-hand about the plant, the progress the team has made to get the worlds most advanced & only Lithium Refinery in North America to operational status! @Klarissa24g
