@JoeFla4 @Datapleaz @realboshek Jeter is and was mostly responsible for the horrid trades the organization made after the move to the new ballpark and the sale of the team. He wanted super star athletes, that's it. Those guys sometimes work, other times don't.

@BaseballValues I double checked. I disagree with your valuation of Gusto as it projects Sanchez at around 2ish war and gusto at around a war. But to this point nothing in the profile of Gusto, that I see suggests the regression you'd expect. The weighting from the projections are pre year.

@BaseballValues Why does your model project Sanchez to be worth so much more than Gusto? Gusto has put up an identical fwar while pretty much matching his peripherals. Where as Sanchez has never put up greater than a 1.5 war season. With a wRC+ around 100. Wouldn't years of control win out?

@Kowalski550 @drillyamama I guess. Most guys on major league rosters were 40s or 45s most All-stars were 45+. There are very few 55 prospects in general. So just get guy that you like at different levels of development.

@Mardevicre They're calling up guys who have an approach. Only stowers is a top 5 hitter. Everybody else is making adjustments just in a context where they had structure to succeed.
