We've just made it much easier to reuse the data on Our World in Data
Here is an overview of our new features: enhanced data downloads and the Chart Data API — by my colleagues @DanyX23, @MarcelGerber9, and @charliegiattino

At @ourworldindata, we’ve just launched new data download options and a Chart Data API to make it even easier to access and reuse the data on our site! Here’s a quick overview of what’s new: 🧵
On Our World in Data, we have thousands of indicators and hundreds of articles covering more than 100 topics.
This range of content makes the ability to search across our site particularly important.
That’s why we've just improved how search works in two key ways.
Short 🧵
We’ve just launched Data Insights!
It's a new bite-sized format in which we focus on one of our 4,000+ charts to highlight one important detail about how the world is changing.

These last days, before I start working with my computer, I play these games. I really like this morning routine! Also, an excuse to check on friends :-)
@janwilmans@b0rk These two have been introduced in 2019, and do the same things you can already do with checkout. It's just that checkout doing so many _different_ things was deemed unintuitive for newcomers, and so there are now separate commands for switching branches and cleaning the worktree.
Obsessed with the new “make it more” trend on ChatGPT.
You generate an image of something, and then keep asking for it to be MORE.
For example - spicy ramen getting progressively spicier 🔥 (from u/dulipat)
A new feature on @OurWorldInData — thank you @MarcelGerber9 for building this!
When you share a link to a chart on social media, you will automatically see a preview thumbnail that shows the exact chart configuration.

@researchremora is it at all possible to get full-quality versions of your #rayshader population maps? including paying for them, of course.
would love to hang some on the wall...
@maurice_1960@urbanthoughts11 Germany has bendy buses in lots of cities, even in medium-sized ones (Aachen, Würzburg, Schweinfurt). They all work great and are super reliable.
“We had lost the generator, tachometer, autopilot, cabin heater, landing and taxi lights, belly tank fuel gauge, electrical fuel pump, and winch,” Cook wrote.

TIL that there has been a nonstop 64-day flight in a Cessna - refueled from a truck at the ground - in the year 1958 already!
This is bonkers; would love to learn more about the logistics of food, toilets, sleep etc.

We’re very excited to launch our new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Tracker!
With it you can monitor global and country-by-country progress toward the @UN SDGs.
