Elle s'appelle Galia Melman-Shalev, elle est vétérinaire israélienne.
Le 8 octobre 2023, alors que des terroristes palestiniens étaient encore présents sur le territoire et que les roquettes frappaient par dizaines, elle est allée sur le terrain avec son mari au péril de leur vie pour secourir des centaines d'animaux (chiens, chats, chevaux) blessés et affamés dans les villes ravagées par le pogrom.
Elle a ensuite ouverte une clinique gratuite d'urgence à Eilat, où ont été évacuées des milliers de familles, pour soigner les animaux des rescapés.
Elle vient de recevoir le prix mondial de médecine vétérinaire WSAVA 2026 pour son courage et son travail.

Women can’t serve in the armed corp because of men who don’t want to serve?…so rather than having the women who want to serve be allowed to do so, they all have to be moved to placate and appease a lobby of religious extremists whose community mostly don’t serve
It’s interesting how rather than moving the few religious men out of the unit (in a unit that is primarily made up of secular men), the women have to be moved away and segregated away
And then one day when a few religious men want to go to the other unit then the women will be removed again.
Women’s service in the IDF had been increasing in all units and has a long history, but now to appease and placate religious extremists the women are being pushed aside. Meanwhile 50,000 Haredi religions men get automatic exemptions from service solely because they are religious.
It’s like the whole thing is just designed to please the whims of one sector of religious men; if they don’t want to serve they avoid service, if a few do serve then all the women have to be removed to please them.
Never are the apparent interests of the majority of the secular public, male and female, tax payers who serve at the highest numbers, taken into account as a sector to be placated.
20 years ago today, Ilan Halimi succumbed to his injuries after enduring three weeks of torture.
On January 21, 2006, Ilan Halimi, a 23-year-old Jewish man, was kidnapped in Paris by the so-called “Gang of Barbarians,” led by Youssouf Fofana. The gang targeted him based on the antisemitic belief that “Jews have money” and could afford a large ransom.
For 24 days, Ilan was held captive in a suburban apartment in Bagneux, where he was brutally tortured and starved. His captors burned him with acid and cigarettes, beat him, and kept him bound and blindfolded—all while sending ransom demands to his family.
On February 13, 2006, they dumped him near a railway track in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois. Barely alive, with 80% of his body covered in burns and injuries, he died on the way to the hospital.
His murder was the first antisemitic killing in France since the Holocaust, shocking the country and exposing the brutal reality of modern antisemitism.
Since Ilan, 11 more French Jews have been murdered simply for being Jewish.
His story is a stark reminder that antisemitic tropes lead to violence, and even murder.
Once antisemitism spreads, it only gets worse. It’s time to take a stand, because it won’t disappear on its own.
Yarden Bibas wakes up every day without his wife and two babies.
Eli Sharabi was freed from Hamas captivity only to learn that his wife, his two daughters, and even the family dog, had been murdered. His home was burned to the ground. Hamas also kidnapped his brother, killed him in captivity and kept his body for two years.
Or Levy wakes up every day without his wife, and has to raise his child alone.
Rachel and Jon Goldberg Polin will never hug their son Hersh again.
Avigail Idan, kidnapped by Hamas at just 3 years old, will never see her parents again. Hamas murdered them before her eyes.
The list goes on. And still, I have to fight every single day to make the world see that Hamas are monsters.

I was on board an IDF Spokesperson’s bus with teams of foreign media, heading toward the Kerem Shalom crossing on Gaza’s southern border to cover the first hours of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after Operation Protective Edge.
Just minutes before we reached our destination, heavy gunfire echoed in the distance. Moments of uncertainty followed before our bus made a sudden U-turn back to safety. That was the moment Hamas shattered the ceasefire, launching rockets and mortars into Israel, killing three IDF soldiers near a tunnel, and kidnapping the body of Lt. Hadar Goldin.
It was a day I and the State of Israel will never forget.
Tonight, according to reports from Gaza, after more than 11 years in captivity, the body of Hadar is finally set to be returned for burial in Israel, bringing long awaited closure to a family that has fought tirelessly to bring their son home, to his beloved country, and to have a grave to cry on.

Thousands gathered at Kibbutz Nir Oz today to pay their final respects to Tamir Adar z"l, who gave his life defending his community during the October 7th attack.
Yael Adar, Tamir's mother:
“Tamiri, you are home. It took us two years to bring you back, but you are here on the lawn where you ran and played, beside the tree you climbed, facing the nursery where you arrived at birth, along the paths where you learned to walk, to run, to ride your bike.
You are in the place that changed in a single morning. The safe haven where you grew up, loved, nurtured, and raised your family, transformed in an instant into a battlefield where you became one of its leading defenders. Because of you, people here are alive.
I once asked you: "Tamiri, do you have to be on the emergency response team?" And you answered: "If not me, and not him, and not him, then who?"
I release you with pain and with great love, knowing that you chose. You could have fled home, but you chose differently. You chose to fight, you chose to protect, you chose to save lives at the cost of your own. I release you with pride for who you were and with gratitude that you were mine. Your body has parted, but you remain. You remain in me. I will continue to raise you within me; you will continue to pulse through me, to make me laugh, to speak with me. You will always be with us, and you will always be missed.
Know this, Tamir. I will not forget and I will not forgive. But now that you are home, I will also find a way toward reconciliation, with a prayer that the price we paid will not be in vain, that you will be the compass for healing, for unity, just as this nation united to fight for your return and today gathers to give you final honor.

On October 16, 2025, it was confirmed that murdered hostage Inbar Hayman (27) was returned to Israel.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas kidnapped 92 women and girls from Israel. Today, with Inbar’s return, no women remain in Hamas captivity.

Hamas will release Maxim Herkin, a 36 yo who got to Israel from Ukraine with his family, including his 4 yo daughter.
Israel will release Jihad Rom, who kidanpped 17 yo Yuri Goshchin in Jerusalem to Ramallah, abused him, murdered him and abused his corpse.
Hamas will release Segev Halfon, a 27 yo from Dimona who suffers from PTSD and worked in his family's bakery.
Israel will release Maher al-Hashlamun, who stabbed 3 people, killing one of them - Dalia Lemkus, who was a survivor of another terror attack 8 years prior to her murder.
Hamas will release Eitan Mor, a 25 yo who lived in Jerusalem and worked at a coffee shop.
Israel will release Hussein Sharrif Jauadra, who was 16 yo when stabbing 19 yo Eden Atias to death on a bus.
Hamas will release Alon Ahel, a 24 yo talented pianist and musician.
Israel will release Nabil Abu Hadir, who murdered his own sister for suspecting she was an Israeli agent.
Hamas will release Yosef Chaim Ohana, a 24 yo bartender, who helped others to escape from the party until he was kidnapped himself.
Israel will release Eiad Abu-Al-Rub, the head of The Islamic Jihad in Jenin, who's personally responsible for terror attacks, among them a suicide terror attack in Hedera, where 6 were murdered.
Hamas will release Avinatan Or, 32 yo from Tel Aviv who was kidnapped alongside his girlfriend @ArgamaniNoa . Avinatan worked at Nvidia.
Israel will release Ibrahim alkam, who murdered two of the Tzur family - the mother and her son, and injured the rest - the father and four daughters.
Hamas will release Rom Berslevsky, a 21 yo from Jerusalem, who worked as a security guard at the Nova festival.
Israel will release Hamza Saleh Ahmad Al-Taqtuq, who in 2006 kidnapped and murdered with gun shots 17 yo Eliyahu Ashuri.
Hamas will release Evyatar David, a 24 yo who worked at a coffee shop while studying music.
Israel will release Hassin Mustafa Hassan Luh, who in 2002 murdered Israelis and tried to murder more Israelis, during the second intifada.
Hamas will release Guy Gilboa Dallal, a 24 yo who just finished studying Computer Science and started working 2 months prior to being kidnapped.
Israel will release Taleb M'hamara, who murdered a couple and their 9 yo son, and another 19 yo soldier, during the second intifada.
Hamas will release two soldiers: Matan Engerst and Nimrod Cohen, who were taken hostages from their tank.
Israel will release Tarrak Khaled Mhammed Tabsh and Raad Sheikh (Sheikh is a palestinian police officer) who in 2000 participated in the Ramallah Lynching.
Hamas will release Matan Zengaucker, a 25 yo who worked in medical agritech.

Israel is fighting to release good and innocent people, and Hamas is fighting to release murderers and rapists.
when someone tells you "Israel is also keeping hostages", remind them who those "hostages" really are.

For Roi Shalev, every single day was October 7th.
That dark morning at the Nova festival, Roi lost the love of his life — Mapal Adam. He witnessed friends being slaughtered and he himself was critically wounded. His body was shattered, and his heart was broken beyond repair.
Just days after the massacre, his beloved mother ended her own life. She could no longer bear the agony of what her son had endured, or the images that haunted her.
Roi fought to live for two long years, trying to find a reason, trying to rebuild from the ashes of that day. But the weight of grief was unbearable. Yesterday, Roi surrendered. He took his own life.
In the letter he left behind, Roi apologized to those who loved him and wrote that he simply could not go on — not after what he had witnessed, not after losing the two women who meant everything to him.
The world does not understand how October 7th shattered us — how deeply it scarred the soul of the Jewish people.
It wasn’t just one day. It was the day that changed everything.
And for many of us, every day since then, has been #October7th
As Bar Einhorn's pregnancy progressed further and further, she was left feeling dread. Her due date was in early October, meaning her daughter's birthday could very well be October 7th.
However, Bar started to change her mind as time went on. “But as the day approached, my feelings changed. I felt that giving birth on that date was a reminder of life — a reminder that we are the eternal people, a people who never break.”
And, as she had once feared, her daughter was born on October 7th, 2025.
Bar and her husband named their daughter Adar, after Lt. Adar Ben-Simon, who saved 120 people with her courageous actions on October 7th, though tragically losing her own life in the process.
Adar's family was incredibly touched by the news, and are glad that their heroic daughter's legacy will live on.

Yossi and Margit Silverman, the parents of Shiri Bibas, were also murdered and their house set on fire.

In response to Israel's attack against Hamas in Doha, Qatar threatens to cut off diplomatic relations with Israel, support Hamas, shelter its leaders, fund countless global terrorist organizations, throw billions of dollars at Western influencers and universities to spread Islamist propaganda and false antisemitic narratives.
Oh, wait, they already did all of that. They have been for years.
There are a number of comments about how the Israeli strike on Hamas in Doha changes calculations about security in the Gulf. The fact is that only one country there chose to host groups like Hamas and the Taliban in order to use them as leverage with the West. Only one country did this. Other countries didn’t want Hamas. One country wanted them and empowered them and led to chaos and plunged Gaza into war with the Oct 7 massacre.
This isn’t a Gulf issue or Gulf-wide challenge. All the other countries there don’t host extremists. It’s quite simple. Stop hosting Hamas and causing conflicts
