@RBMEllis@LinkofSunshine the common reading of the people defending the movie implies that 95% of the film is intentionally shallow, boring and infuriating which is just not possible that's the intention for a 180 million dollar movie lol
@RBMEllis@LinkofSunshine i did. if you watch interviews of the cast and crew talking about the movie it's clear that the movie is just not as self aware as other people are claiming.
@sneedliberalism But there seems to be a seemingly big number of young extremely religious men in Britain spearheaded by people like Mohammed hijab and whatever that’s clearly very bad, but I’ve met a lot of Muslims who think that’s just a good thing
@sneedliberalism From my experience I’ve talked to a lot of Muslims who are mostly ambivalent to it, and some of the more religious ones think it’s good because “it’s spreading Islam”
‘DIGGER’ has opened with $8M domestically on a projected budget of $160M-$180M.
Biggest Hollywood box office bomb of 2026 & one of the biggest bombs of all time.
after watching some interviews for digger i think i was giving it too much credit in thinking it's more self aware and smart than it is, it's just so far up it's own ass and delusional it becomes an actual parody of itself
Watched digger, I don’t think I ever left a theater feeling this horrible, I don’t really know how to feel about it but I think it’s probably really bad
@VashKohime Tbf to digger it is a much more competent and functional film than megalopolis or southland tales but it does have alot of bad ideas running through it like those other movies and it does feel impenetrable in some really frustrating ways
i can't figure out if this movie is one of the most pessimistic self hating misanthropic pieces of art ever made or I'm giving it to much credit and it's just a self absorbed, out of touch and made for literally no one movie because i think there's good evidence for both readings
Watched digger, I don’t think I ever left a theater feeling this horrible, I don’t really know how to feel about it but I think it’s probably really bad
