@CollinsforTX Architect and stone expert here!
1. Signing an NDA on a s State project is standard. 2. Cheaper to send US stone overseas for fabrication surprisingly. Common practice.
3. They purchased the stone locally because it needs to match the capital building.
@houmanhemmati Architect here - First of all that is foam in the photo. And it’s standard practice to send stone quarried in the US to Italy and Portugal for Fabrication… And they are not stone bricks. They slice it up into 3 CM panels. Probably saved the state a few million $$.
@ZavalaA Architect and Stone expert here… It’s actually cheaper to ship stone overseas to fabricate in Italy/Portugal than do it all here. Probably saved a couple million $. This is not controversial…
@elonmusk I want to buy one. I’m having difficulty coming up with the $150k for the Plaid! If you can help me either that, I’d be so appreciative. Thank you in advance!!
