Desde pequena o cheiro de lavanda me lembra minha mãe. É o cheiro favorito dela. Ela sempre teve o sonho de conhecer campos de Lavanda. Ela foi pra todos que têm no Brasil, mas um dia ela queria mesmo conhecer um campo de lavanda na França. Ano passado ela passou por um câncer e, durante os longos dias que a acompanhei em cirurgia/quimio/tratamento, eu prometi pra ela que assim que ela se curasse eu ia levar ela pra realizar esse sonho e pra comemorar o fim da doença.

Hoje ela tá curada e a gente tá aqui pra celebrar o fim do tratamento e amanhã o aniversário de 71 aninhos dela 🫶🥰

Berlim inaugurou hoje um memorial em homenagem às testemunhas de Jeová perseguidas pelo regime nazista. Estima-se que cerca de 14 mil membros desse grupo tenham sido presos, 4.200 enviados a campos de concentração e ao menos 1.750 assassinados entre 1933 e 1945.

Diferente do genocídio dos judeus, fundado numa ideologia racial e eliminacionista, a perseguição às Testemunhas de Jeová decorria da recusa religiosa em saudar Hitler, aderir às organizações do regime e prestar serviço militar, recusa que o nazismo reinterpretou como subversão política.

Esses fiéis podiam, ao menos formalmente, encerrar a perseguição assinando uma declaração de renúncia à fé. Pouquíssimas o fizeram, e é essa fidelidade que faz de sua trajetória um caso emblemático de resistência fundada na consciência.

Preservar a memória de todas as vítimas do nazismo é um compromisso fundamental contra o esquecimento e a intolerância.

During her testimony, Gritzewsky accused the UN special rapporteur on violence against women, Reem Alsalem, of denying evidence that such crimes against women occurred.

At 13, Kurt Marx fled Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport in 1939, helping bring a Sefer Torah to Britain alongside other Jewish children from his school in Cologne.

Now aged 100, he has been reunited with that same Torah and read again from the Bar Mitzvah portion he learned as a boy.

The scroll was rescued following Kristallnacht in 1938 and recently traced to Brondesbury Park Synagogue through work by the United Synagogue Heritage Team and the Association of Jewish Refugees, @TheAJR_.
