Thank you, Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan! At their recent AGM, they passed a late resolution to donate $100,000 from their contingency fund to support STF in our collective bargaining efforts. We are beyond grateful for the contributions of superannuated teachers.
Anyone else still buzzing from last week's #STFCouncil?! Three days full of important discussions and decisions.
I am so grateful for the overwhelming support and solidarity. Thank you to @CoachLAWilson for the final curtesy resolution and to Council for this incredible moment.
Opinion: Trustees, boards have failed to stand up for Sask. students — A former Saskatoon school board trustee and executive thinks the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation has proved to be students' best advocate.

🚩Don't be fooled! The Teacher Support and Innovation Fund has supported only 40 projects. We have 13,500 teachers, so ~ 0.3% are being supported with this fund.
These aren't the stats I would be celebrating.
Teachers asked for one line. Instead, government refused to include *their own accountability framework* in the teacher contract.
It's clear: This government has no interest in funding public education.

#BREAKING: The federal government says it will launch a national school food program, hoping to deliver meals to an additional 400,000 children per year. https://t.co/4QiM36AZL1
This was just a small part of the crowd assembled today at the Sask Legislature. The crowd of 6000 people was walking around the entire building to support education funding and teachers. #WeAreSTF

This is amazing a 1-20 ratio for teachers to students and 1-80 ratio for learning support specialist. And this is happening right next door in Manitoba - giving those students and edge.
UPDATE: The provincial government has rejected an offer from the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation that could have ended the group’s ongoing sanctions.

The @SaskParty gov’t & @SaskSchoolBoard prov. leadership are avoiding fulfilling their responsibilities. Gov’t doesn’t want long term funding, SSBA doesn’t want accountability for the decisions. This should be about what students deserve, not about individual political interests.
Government's story: STF spent 30 mins bargaining in five months.
Reality: We spent the same amount of time bargaining as government. This included five days in December and a half-day in February, before they ultimately stood us up the next day.
Let's get the facts straight.
Thanks @SaskSchoolBoard for throwing us under the bus. Great job! Now we are both in the same predicament as the government took away your local taxation abilities years ago & want to keep us quiet about trying to hold them accountable for class size, complexity & other issues.
Did you know: 35% of teachers have experienced violence in the workplace, and a national poll found that Sask. students are the most likely in Canada to experience a physical assault at school.
A violence-free classroom isn't too much to ask for. https://t.co/dKfz1969iX.
