WIth two days to go before Brazil's election, the US last night closed its embassies and consulates, citing "security concerns." Australia, Canada and the UK then did the same.

Lula's campaign is based on claims of a US coup, so they're using these embassy closing to somehow justify that fear, but Brazilian media says that the Federal Police are investigating plots of attacks on the US consulate and have already carried out search and seizures against two individuals.
