A former colleague is asking for referrals to help DOLE with the streamlining of the “Alien Employment Permit.” He’s looking to build a new team.
Please DM me, if you are interested. Kindly send me a CV/resume which, with your permission, I’ll send to this DOLE Usec. Thanks!
Our Jesuit Fathers often reminded us that we “should go where there is most need.” Part of this is accepting that “I am no longer needed here” (or at least, not for the time being). 🙏🏼
God-willing, this is the prayer that will lead me elsewhere next year. Amen.
🆕The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has now been ratified by 192 countries and one regional organization. Pointing to a world facing crises, from climate change and conflict to a global surge in the cost of living, @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres said “too often, living with a disability means living in a world designed by and for others. Luckily, it is possible to redesign the world.” Read more: https://t.co/8ZkOXLXOVl

Education support where it matters most.
As Senate President Pro Tempore and principal sponsor and author of Senate Bill No. 1894, I co‑presided over the bicameral conference that adopted the reconciled measure strengthening the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. The bill ensures automatic Tertiary Education Subsidy support for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) graduates and other disadvantaged learners, expands allowances for books, transport, computers, and housing, and requires Equity and Inclusion Plans to guarantee fair access for students from low‑income families and those with disabilities.
This measure moves us closer to an education system that uplifts the most vulnerable and gives every Filipino learner a fair chance to pursue higher education and build a better future.
@loren_legarda@pjudeacidre Senators @bamaquino@WinGatchalian74 thank you for helping to lead these efforts to pass E-GASTPE. As Sec MonJ used to say, government service truly is a relay race. We’re confident that you and your colleagues and counterparts will carry this to the finish line! 🙏🏼
@loren_legarda We heard the good news po, Sen. Loren—that you have instructed the convening of the Bicam for E-GASTPE! 🙏🏼 Maraming salamat po sa pagsusulong ng reporma para sa ating mga mag-aaral! 👏🏼 @pjudeacidre “Student First Coalition” is looking forward to celebrating this accomplishment!
The President, Mayor Moreno, Cong. Joel Chua and I went around the evacuation center housing the fire victims from last Saturday's big fire in Binondo. We made sure all the family support kits, food and cash assistance distributed in a timely manner.
My column today: We have this never-ending paradox of college graduates struggling to find jobs while industries struggle to find job applicants with the skills they need. There is a structural failure in the education-to-employment pipeline. https://t.co/u06xYC0XXr
Sec @sonnyangara on behalf of “Advocates of Inclusion,” we just wanted to urge the issuance of DepEd’s Department Order, re: “Amended MPSS.” We note its significance in advancing the agenda for accessibility and disability inclusion (and the fact that it is critical to PSIP). 🙏🏼

A few weeks ago, while at an art gallery, I told my friends: someday, long after I’m gone, I hope that one of my artworks will be exhibited here. Today, I got this email. (On a serendipitous note, when I said that, I was thinking of this particular artwork! 🥹🤯)
