Did Vienna invented the $7 latte?
Fun coffee history tidbit from my friend @MarcusBrotman
- The Ottomans would partially boil / roast the coffee beans before exporting to prevent Europeans from being able to cultivate their own coffee beans (prevent the beans from being able to germinate).
The Ottomans were protecting their coffee monopoly and the coffee in Europe was probably much lower quality. The Viennese did then turn a mostly black coffee culture from the Ottomans into a more cream / sugar based drink.
@jhariharan72 I think agents consolidates consumption even further -- just as tech consolidated consumption before AI.
If you were to eat all your food based on uber eats recs or google maps you'd end up with more concentrated eating habits than if each meal was eaten while walking around.
@isaiasvilato Theoretically it would be impossible for LLMs to understand how we perceive food unless they had access to human senses around smell, taste, temperature, moisture, etc.
Before that they rely on reviews, which are already gamed by restaurants.
@JasonrShuman 100% @JasonrShuman. It will be really interesting to see how willing people are to start using cameras across their homes for the sake effeciency.
Ie: the robots in your home will be more useful if your home is being monitored.
@defi_moses I think we'll likely have to pay a premium in the future to get an "un-biased agent" as the free tier will be locked behind ads. Where your agent may make decisions based directly on sponsorships.
@shavidan123 Couldn't agree more.
Agents can't smell or see in a human way, but they do read reddit and uber ratings. Will promulgate dead internet theory even further.
