This has been a pretty wild week. Will SpaceX really get to go for that double catch in Flight 15!? We've been waiting years to see this my friends. Oh, that and a leaping rocket Roadster...
π Loads to catch up on today! π

Rocket Lab officially explained why the first Neutron mission is now pushed to 2027. Carbon fibre is tricky. Hope they can nail the build for flight soon. π€

I've been quietly building a game for the past few years. and today it finally goes out the door! π
Until recently, I had no idea what shape it would take. It turned into Starship Space Program: a Kerbal-like flight sim for Starship and Super Heavy. You fly the hops, hot staging, the booster catch on the tower, and on to orbit, with real orbital physics. Starbase is built from lidar, so the pads and the tower are exactly where they really are. Catching the booster in the chopsticks yourself is as good as it sounds.
It's an early alpha, and that's the point: I want the people who love this stuff to shape what it becomes from here. Things will break. Tell me what does.

(Starship Space Program is a working title. Not affiliated to SpaceX, Tesla, Or Take-Two).
I've had a copyright claim submitted over a few small Tesla clips in my latest video while talking about some of the sweet Roadster thruster footage. Obviously all fair use. How is it fair @YouTubeCreators that a baseless claim like this can be made by a company that has absolutely nothing to do with Tesla? All monetisation removed again for up to 30 days including shopping and I just need to take it until my dispute expires. Add to that I need to tick boxes in my dispute submission agreeing that
"I understand that filing fraudulent disputes may result in termination of my YouTube channel."
For creators this stuff scares them into being bullied into having their earnings taken away. It only needs a 2 second glance to see that the claim itself is fraudulent, so such claims should never make their way to a creator in the first place.
All the power is with the claimant, almost nothing with the creator. π₯Ί
Dispute has been submitted. It sure would be great if youtube could look into these fraudulent claim accounts. All we want to see is that a penalty/cost is applied to these bad actors (especially after multiple claims have been disputed successfully). Please help fix this to that these accounts do not find it worth the cost of making fraudulent claims.
I would love for X to have a media library option where we could have a space for all our videos to sit chronologically. That with in-video advertising so we could do it here would be amazing. They are just two very different platforms doing very different things. X is great for shorts posts and conversation. Youtube is purely video library management.
@IanHollandswort@YouTubeCreators The claimant if they win... which they won't. It's just a pain in the arse because the money is held in escrow for some undefined amount of time, and we need to go through the bulls#$% exercise of filing the disputes.
@StreamingSeagu1@YouTubeCreators There should be a penalty for any false claim. Even a $10 claim fee that is only returned on a win would probably be penalty enough for these bot accounts that just mass flag like this.
Yea, the problem is X doesn't have in video advertising. X is more discussion and post based, not video based. Also worth noting that there is no way on X to have a location where all your videos can be seen in one chronological way. I do hope that changes. I have trialled it and we earned essentially nothing on the video posts. You don't want to dilute the audience on the side that gives you the majority of your revenue.
I know it has happened to all of us. It's just frustrating when you are trying to budget and ensure your team gets paid on time and reliably. A claim should at lest be seen as legitimate before monetisation is held. It should be a two step process, and an obviously fraudulent false claim should incur a harsh penalty to the claimant.
@mawk_au@YouTubeCreators@Tesla Nothing to do with Tesla. The claim is fraudulent by a bad actor claiming the Tesla content I talked about in my video was theirs to claim. It is certainly not.
Wow! π€― The fact it has been confirmed again that this is the plan in Flight 15 along with a catch of the Super Heavy absolutely blows my mind. This new animation is inspiration+.
Excitement Guaranteed!
Out of the full 26 min video, they get to claim all ad revenue if I don't argue it. Only talked about the Roadster for a little over 2 mins as it was. Sigh
