“Biblical marriage is between one man and one woman.”
No it’s not.
“Biblical marriage” is between one man, one woman, and that woman's slave. (Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar)
“Biblical marriage” is between one man and two sisters after he works seven years for each of them. (Jacob, Rachel, and Leah)
“Biblical marriage” is between one man, his wives, his master’s wives given to him by God, and the wife of a man he murders. (David)
“Biblical marriage” is between one man, 700 wives, and 300 concubines. (Solomon)
“Biblical marriage” is between one man in his 20s and one female child in her mid-teens. (Joseph and Mary)
The vast majorities of marriages depicted in the Bible are between a man and multiple women OR between a man and a female child who was purchased through dowry.
So when Christians talk about marriage today, we should be focused on what is Christ-honoring, not what is “biblical.”
[to my friend at a restaurant] Looks like you got yourself some food. Nice. That'll keep your energy up for a while. Don't let your energy get too low, or you won't be able to perform basic actions like running or climbing. If you have any questions about energy, just ask me.

@debscavator@CanGal_39 Thats half a weeks food Budget for me, a student in Germany. 25€ especially in winter with heating costs and tuition being due, might make a difference in running out of toiletries and spending money so I can eat instead. Source: last month.
@DeborahFW @GuiltFemPod It's when you asked what show he expected to be at and he said Mary Poppins 😅 it being an ironic joke makes a lot more sense though 😅
Besides @DeborahFW handling the situation so brilliantly and delicately I'm just so confused why at a Mary Poppins Show it would be more appropriate (than at a @GuiltFemPod Show) to answer any question in such a way? Seems a bit vulgar for a Mary Poppins Show of all places? 😅
Lesbianism isn't about excluding men its about loving women and if you make it about excluding men more than loving women imo that's not lesbianism that's trying to make being a radfem a sexuality
found out that the ADHD medication shortage in the US is because of the DEA setting arbitrary caps on the amount of supply that can be made regardless of how many people need it and became a libertarian for a couple seconds
"I can't believe queer kids don't know about [x] American queer media/ history!" I'm sorry do you live in some sort of alternate dimension where queer lit and history aren't systemically censored, banned and kept inaccessible? Were you taught queer lit in middle school??? 😭
I've found this gem, the 1938 presentation of the steam ship Nieuw Amsterdam.
Lots of delicious pictures of what the then brand new and super modern ship looked like and all the art it had on board.
It's gorgeous, check out this thread.
No drooling.
Since it's apparently #WorldToiletDay: Contrary to popular myth, the palace of Versailles did have toilets and bathrooms. At the time, bathrooms were luxury rooms dedicated to bathing, while toilet facilities were kept in separate spaces. (contd)
your inability to distinguish between images of the naked body and pornography is a product of the very culture of porn that you believe to be criticising just btw
I have heard stories multiple times of people who "beat cancer naturally" but also (it turns out) they did do chemotherapy and radiation, just less than their doctors wanted.
That's not beating cancer naturally, that's getting really fucking lucky.
