@teachaged My late husband said this in 2015 when Orange was first running. But I also agree that it's hardly necessary, because he's so easy to flatter.
@thejackhopkins I was in Budapest last fall at the start of a river cruise. A lot of life under a dictatorship is pretty normal for those who are not being targeted. And appalling for those who are.
@thejackhopkins@Nagual44444 If the cruelty IS the point... What if there was widespread interference and they revealed it in full right after the inauguration?
@Angry_Staffer Who was overconfident in 2016? I worked so hard on Hillary's campaign that I slept through THREE alarms on Election Day morning and showed up 15 minutes late for my shift.
@AndreaR9Md Mine is retired from active duty. But I keep visualizing younger family and friends dying of an ectopic pregnancy. CDC estimates 100,000 per year, a death sentence without medical care.
@magi_jay I canvassed for McGovern in 1972 and door-knocked women who said I can't answer anything; my husband's not home. I thought we'd grown beyond that. But actually I've just moved into a demographic bubble where that doesn't happen.
@JRubinBlogger I mostly read the WP because of your column. I'm waiting to see what you decide. Resign out of principle? Remain to keep a voice for democracy on staff? I can understand and support either.
@thejackhopkins You're never quite old enough for this day to come. She was obviously so proud of you. She had a good long life, though 80 sounds younger with every passing year. Sending sympathy.
