I think if the Zionist first principles are that Palestine is the Jewish homeland, every Jew has a right to it by birth and the existing inhabitants of the land shouldnโt have had a say in this; itโs anti-Palestinian bigotry very foundationally.
@PunishedMetros my argument is not about whether these specific policies are justifiable, but that these policies originate from a culture of paranoia rather than a specific culture of anti-palestinian bigotry. even if anti-palestinian bigotry is how it manifests itself today
@EccentricEnbyy@MarginalScr Industry does not equate to human prosperity, where do the riches of those industries go?
Britain stole an estimated 45 trillion usd from India.

@tubbysrealm@EccentricEnbyy No as the counterexamples of countries that were similarly poor once and are not now, itโs called โbad economic policyโ.
@yungneocon@Blairiteboywife The Right to Immigrate being one specific to Jews is problematic and I donโt think this should be a controversial proposition.
This is the kind of international Socialist solidarity that UK-based left wing internationalists like @MarginalScr have been longing for since Corbyn stepped down
@yungneocon@Blairiteboywife The issue was claiming that Jews across the world had a special right to the land. Even the less extreme proposals worked on that premise.
@tubbysrealm@EccentricEnbyy I think my family was less oppressed by white people they never saw in their lives vs. their neighbours theyโd known all their lives increasingly becoming hostile.
The USSR always ran a budget surplus under him (except for 1941-43, ofc), but not after him. Therefore, deficit hawks have no choice but to become anti-revisionist MLs
@souljagoytellem@ElonMusgraves Wheatcroftโs take is standard in economic history, and heโs not a fan of Stalin either (and itโs close to what Kondrashin says here). The person who says Stalin did nuffink wrong is Tauger, but Tauger also thinks the British Empire did nuffink wrong.
Calling it a genocide is bullshit, but nobody serious thinks the cause of the famine was just a combination of droughts and kulaks engaging in sabotage either.
Stalin's agrarian policy was just disastrous and there were issues with Soviet agriculture well after 1945.
@ElonMusgraves@souljagoytellem Except in Ukraine, that didnโt quite happen either. And I think this thing wrt Scotland is also overwrought. There are other regional things in the UK which have been completely subsumed.
@souljagoytellem@ElonMusgraves Yeah that was also the specific thing that Wheatcroft etc brought up in response to Appelbaum. That she pretty much ignores the famine being larger than Ukraine. Ukrainian historians like Plokhy werenโt calling it genocide early on either, but are moving towards that.
