#USAMV tested on🥬 conventional fertilizer (E), residual materials from the BLUEsector (B-C) and a control (M). Plants from variants B and C were not affected by the attack of the pest! We will return with the final results of our research, stay tuned😀✌️#bluebiocofound#plants
SOFIE2 presented a great opportunity for #Marigreen project to connect to people in the organic fertilizer industry. EU organic fertilizer market is a key for valorizing marine residuals. We were grateful to meet Jessica Fitch of ECOFI and many others #bluebioeconomy#bluebio
Mesoscale composting of algae fiber is proceeding at #Norsøk (Norway). Our PhD student Joshua Cabell is testing a insulated compost container with algae fiber with high N content provided by Algea. Thanks to Nurahmed, CRISPR-expert who assists us in the practical work #MARIGREEN
Ivan Livano and Peer Vind Mortensen from #Alumichem went to #DTUAqua to share their experience with organic coagulants and flocculants. We applied them to sea water and fresh water sludges to obtain a clean disposable water.

Anne-Kristin our senior researcher from Norsøk did a pecha kucha presentation about fertilizers from sea

At #DTUAqua Federica Carboni and Godwin Abakari hosted Ivan Liviano from #Alumichem as part of the #HCB in the #Marigreen project. We learned how to increase dry matter content of fish sludge using an innovative lignocellulosic filtration system. #bluebioeconomy#blueresources
Joshua Cabell presented our project #Marigreen during the Research Days arranged by Norway Research Council. At least 200 people stopped by to learn about how we are using marine residues as fertilizer by direct application and by composting first

Setting up the experimental trials!🥬
At USAMV (Romania) we have started to implement the experimental trials in which we will test the fertilizer made from fish bone and algal fibres provided by our partners!

NORSØK ended up in the nrk TV news!📺
In a warehouse at the Norwegian Centre for Organic Agriculture, mixture of algae fiber and dried fish residues is poured into a machine. Both are waste that would otherwise have been sent for combustion.

Danish partners #DTUAqua#Alumichem are evaluating the use of fish faeces as a fertilizer. We collected the fish faeces from a Danish trout organic farm Mønsted-Bryrup #Musholm and with a lignocellulosic filtration system the fish cake was produced. #HCB#BluebioCOFUND#bluebio
The MARIGREEN project valorizes residual materials from the BLUE sector by treating them with appropriate technology and applying in agriculture. We are a consortia from Norway (Norce, Norsøk), Romania (USAMV), Greece (AUTH) and Denmark (DTU AQUA, KU, Alumichem)! @BlueBioCOFUND
First step for producing fertilizers has begun!
At NORSØK (Norway) our colleagues Anne-Kristine Løes and PhD Joshua Cabell are testing a pellet machine to provide fertilizer made from fish bone and algal fiber. Pellets will be tested at USAMV (Romania).
