To tackle affordability, we must reduce costs, but we can’t lose sight of the other side of the equation: access to good-paying jobs.

The Trump SEC’s push to end climate disclosure abandons investors who have spent more than a decade calling for consistent, comparable data to manage that risk. Even as this SEC sides with corporations over investors, I’ll keep fighting for the disclosure investors need to reduce risk in their portfolios. Climate risk is financial risk.

Pope Leo XIV: "Among these ideologies, I consider particularly insidious the one that suggests that every person must earn or justify his or her own worth, to the point of attributing greater value to those who are more efficient or effective. From this perspective, persons end up being reduced to a means of achieving results, a resource to be used and exploited, and are no longer recognized as a proper end in themselves who should never be instrumentalized. The value of persons, however, does not depend on what they achieve or produce. There are rights that apply to everyone simply by virtue of being human, and no human power can legitimately deny or arbitrarily limit them." #MagnificaHumanitas
Our local farms are vitally important to providing healthy, fresh food to NYers, which is why new data is concerning. NY lost farms at a quicker pace than the country as a whole. There were 500 fewer farms in 2025 compared to the year before. This loss was double the national rate, according to the @USDA. 80% of those farms are considered small farms with sales less than $100K.
Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
🚨As expected, federal tariffs imposed in 2025 dealt a huge blow to New York State. @NYSComptroller's report spells out the impacts on tourism statewide and the loss of export revenue, both of which threaten jobs and the state's economy.

Federal cuts could make college less affordable and hurt our higher education system.
New limitations to aid and loans, cuts to research funding and declines in international students will hurt students and surrounding communities.

The arrest of @nyccomptroller Brad Lander by federal ICE agents is a clear abuse of power. His actions to help a fellow New Yorker, who was unfairly targeted, were not grounds for an aggressive takedown. This is a dangerous path for our nation. New York cannot stand for this.
