Very important news. Effective immediately, the dance police is indeed over!!
@GovKathyHochul just eliminated antiquated restrictions on dancing in NY 🕺🪩
Operational excellence should be govt’s north star, but outdated bureaucracy often gets in the way. I can’t think of a better person than @amcheng2016 to drive this commission's work!😍 @ABetterNY hopes this commission can help make govt faster, smarter & more responsive to NYers
We ask city agencies to do so much, with such difficult constraints. To have the chance to structurally change some of those constraints to allow city workers to do what they need to do is a total dream!

A smart take highlighting what so many of us already know: @DMLeilaBozorg is one of the sharpest housing leaders in NYC. Thoughtful, strategic, & always clear-eyed about the work. Shoutout to her & @NYCMayor for pushing forward an ambitious housing vision w/ NYCHA front & center
This sounds obscure but it is not.
For 50 years, NY’s environmental review law (aka SEQRA) has been weaponized to stop housing and other vital projects.
The reform reform Gov. Hochul just signed will dramatically speed up approvals, so good projects aren't killed by process.
A huge win in the fight to build the housing NY so desperately needs.
From June 11 to July 19, New Yorkers can eat, drink, and celebrate the World Cup for just $26 at restaurants across all five boroughs.
From Little Senegal in Harlem to Little Odessa in Brooklyn, our city’s diversity is our greatest strength, and now it’s on the menu.

When @ABetterNY hosted THE Andy Byford last fall, he promised a complete transformation of Penn Station. There were skeptics about the very aggressive timeline, but Andy’s optimism was infectious.
Excited for this next step & that NYC can still do big, transformative things!
Federal officials and Amtrak announced that Halmar — under the name Penn Transformation Partners — will be the developer to lead the transformation of Penn Station.
The transformation will include a new entrance to the train hall on Eighth Avenue, new concourses, expanded track capacity and more.

We’re in a race to tackle our housing crisis, because working New Yorkers can't afford to wait.
I remember my first briefing on this project when I was at City Hall - since the start, they’ve led a community-driven process resulting in this gorgeous & inclusive design!
