@AlboMP Then why are there still air strikes in Jabalia? Why are schools still being bombed? Why does North Gaza look apocalyptic? Your support of this genocide disgusts the humanity in me. How do you look at an entire group of people, children too, being murdered and look away? How?
@AlboMP Are you serious?
You know what’s ripping Australians off? Unaffordable housing. HECS. Uni fees. A cost of living crisis. The anguish of seeing fellow humans - children too - being bombed and killed - in a genocide. But sure, you fight the good fight: Chip air. My gosh, thanks
Constitutional law expert Dr Shireen Morris explains how voting Yes to Recognise ATSI ppl “in a practical way” won’t take anything away from “any other Australian” & condemns Dutton for calling #TheVoice ‘racially divisive’. “It’s completely wrong, it’s a lie, in fact.”💥#Yes23
@andrea_jurjevic@CynthiaDNelson Me! 1st language Greek up until school. 2nd language English, which is my daily life language & the language I work and write in. Sometimes a struggle to remember my Greek but I do dream in it, & I’m starting to feature it more and more in my writing. What a lovely thread!
I’m sorry this has happened. It wasn’t what had been promised all those years ago. It’s not what the system looked like for my generation. It’s eye watering, the cost of education. No one could call it free anymore. :(
This is what gets me about HECS: Week after week a portion for repayment is taken out of your pay. The government holds this tax for a full year and then, once you complete your tax return, they raise a HECS contribution. But if you are below the threshold, they refund you.
Do your tax return. Below threshold? Enjoy a refund. But wait. Here’s the catch. Even though you tried to make a repayment, we now won’t accept it. And here’s a 7% hike on your principal. Oh look, you still have a debt? Take home pay reduced. Cycle continues..
If we're talking about how women have less Super, we should be talking about how Super earnt by a highly paid working partner while a women is caring for kids is often lost to that working partner if the relationship breaks up. It should be prima facie split between accounts.
I loved being part of this panel. So much to think about re making healthcare more nurturing for patients AND for new doctors and other professionals. Such important ideas. I really appreciated participating. And thank you @Emma_J_Young for your thoughtful questions!
@westaustralian The comments here are completely diminishing of the work women do. Why do you think women are more likely to work part time? Why is it that ‘men’s jobs’ (as you say) like mining attract more money than say ‘naturally caring’ jobs like nursing etc? Stop negating.
