Don't even take an interview unless they answer the salary question honestly.
Ask “What is the budget for this position?”
If the range is $60,000 - $100,000 ask them what a $60k candidate looks like vs a $100k candidate.
Toxic cultures exploit generosity. Takers impose extra work on givers, and no good deed goes unpunished.
Healthy cultures reward generosity. People protect givers from takers, and cream rises to the top.
Helpfulness is not a weakness to target. It's a strength to safeguard.
This is so much negatively impacting parenting where parents fear their kids becoming too kind. There’s no such a thing as too kind, naivety and innocence are two different things. One can be extremely sophisticated and kind. Is the lack of the understanding of complexity making the kindness scapegoat.
Kahneman taught us that making more than $75,000 doesn't impact happiness.
He just updated his research. If you have a:
1. Low income, more income will make you happier
2. High income + unhappy, more won't make u you happier
3. High income + happy, more isn’t worth the effort
