Today one of my friends called me and asked:
“I have joint pain over my MCPs in both hands. No swelling. No morning stiffness.
But my mother has RA and is on DMARDs.
I’m 28. What should I do? What’s the chance of me getting RA?”
Here’s how I approached this 🧵

It's amazing that the human body has so many autonomic receptors and second messengers that carry out functions in different organ systems. I also think it makes no sense to force students to memorize all the different types (Gs, Gi, Gq, cAMP, IP3) so they can regurgitate them on exams. Doing this takes away from the beauty of the system. Can't appreciate it when all your attention is focused on memorization.
@AsudaniMarish Thank you so much for this. I’m in my dedicated phase of step 3 and this guide will help me so much as I am struggling with biostats concepts.

To all the recently matched applicants (specially IMGs) - As you celebrate this milestone, always remember those who supported you during the challenging times. Stay humble, lift others up, and always pay it forward. Congrats! #Match2025#IMG
I don't know who needs to hear this, but there is no perfect residency. Residency won’t make you a great physician. Only you will make yourself one. Embrace the journey and always be willing to learn and grow! #Match2025
Only after my training did I fully appreciate all the people who took time to teach me.
I didn't realize they had emails to send, notes to write, research papers to submit, & patients waiting in the clinic.
Instead, they took time to teach.
What a gift.
Matched. Still in shock. Grateful. Hopeful. Excited. I want to thank my parents, sisters, friends and most importantly my husband for their support. # Match2025
When I get accepted to medical school,
When I complete my Steps,
When I match,
When I finish residency…
Remember, it’s not about the destination—it’s about the journey! Don’t let the destination take away your ability to enjoy the journey. Be proud of every small success and stay happy with what you do every day.

To future interns: The first few months of residency are truly tough. If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to stay eager to learn and expose yourself to as many tasks as possible.

59 days until Match Day. Excited but nervous at the same time. I have grown both personally and professionally. I cannot wait to start residency and meet my co-residents 👩🏻⚕️ #firstgenerationdoctor
