Can i ask all paramedics a favour? If a relative, friend or passerby has attempted CPR, can you please advise them how well they did and how they’ve given the patient the best chance of survival.
Its a small task for you but it will make a significant difference to them.
This thread is great, and the word nurse could be replaced with many excellent clinical professions. We aren’t here for ego, it’s not even about us, it’s about the people we care for. Great thread 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
*Trauma folk* - Has anyone else heard a clicking noise when auscultating a right sided pneumothorax/flail chest?
I’ve just read up on Hammans sign, but it appears to only be in the left..
And my patients injury was definitely to the right.. #FOAMed#phtls
Lovely evening at my neighbours wedding. I danced with a lady i attended 1.5 years ago with multiple spinal fractures following an RTC.
I wasn’t particularly sure she had a spinal injury, but my gut said immobilise -and i’m damn glad i did! 🕺💃
**North Wales Primary Care Clinicians***: Please can you code your observations during your consultations - its really useful during my ambulance shifts as it means I can see what observations are normal for that patient which therefore helps me provide better care.
As our summers get warmer some of our people have asked for shorts to be provided as part of our uniform. I’m pleased to say that #TeamWAST will soon be able to access shorts for use at work in the summer months to make working in the hot weather more comfortable.
Great opportunity to progress in research but remain clinical if you wish. Paramedic Senior Research Fellow 0.4 FTE working with a great team (I'm bias-it's my team😂). I'm committed to increasing opportunities to combine a research career with clinical so secondment is an option
@padraic90 Thanks, I utilise the calgary-cambridge model to structure my consultations, however I am wanting the reference how I am documenting my consultation using this structure: PC/HPC/PMH/DH/Allergies/SH/FH/SR
@Terranova_CFMB I may have to hola you Emma, i’ve not done it before. I think CoP is doing some guidance on how to do it.
I‘ve certainly completed enough CPD its just presenting it how they would like it that concerns me 🙈
