Joe Biden literally secured a ceasefire before he left office. There was a ceasefire in place when Trump took office that was supposed to be the period where a permanent ceasefire was negotiated. Instead Trump let the ceasefire expire without any serious attempt at peace negotiations, and then he allowed Netanyahu push Gaza to the brink of starvation with a multi-month full aid blockade.

I am happy, without reservations or qualifications, that there is a ceasefire now and I sincerely hope that both sides adhere to it and this nightmare of a war is finally over. But I refuse to allow history to be rewritten.
