@SashaHupka We are wondering — if there is a discrepancy in an address—which address is the letter sent to? If the voter never receives the letter… then?
@SashaHupka Sasha, a friend we know received the letter despite living at and voting from the same address for 30 years. Exactly why did the DMV single her out for scrutiny? We would be interested in seeing a list of everyone who received the letter. Or a party breakdown of the recipients.
Honestly @RecordersOffice, we meant to say Justin. Not Justine. But while we have your attention what prompted these letters? And if the voters don’t confirm their address with you, is there a chance they won’t get their ballots mailed?
The County Recorder’s office, Justine Heap, is mailing these letters out to some voters. It says the MVD has shared the voter’s address with the Recorder’s office because “it may have changed.” The voters we have heard from don’t understand what may have prompted the letter.

Hi @Garrett_Archer, can you explain why the court kicked the ESA reform initiative off the ballot? And is it true that @RecordersOffice verified only 240k signatures out of 420k in Maricopa? That is an incredible number of invalidations.
@ThomasGalvin points out that there were no reports of fraud in the primary election. “We are only as good as the last election.” He thanks the many nameless election workers. @DebbieLesko echos him. “99.6% of the ballots were processed in 27 hours.”
Board Chair @KateMcGeeAZ praises @RecordersOffice and the elections dept for working together to produce a successful election. “It’s possible —we can do this.”
The results were earlier in this election — double shifts probably helped, as did the new way of tabulating. It wasn’t clear where the new method occurred but possibly it was at the vote centers?
Next up, @RecordersOffice Heap gives his report. There were 942 provisional ballots. And over 2,000 ballots were rejected because the voter’s signature didn’t match or was missing.
Scott Jarrett of the Maricopa Elections Dept gave a nice summary of last week’s primary election. The election was smooth although turnout was low. (26%)Their new dashboard system that tracked the processed ballots had a few hiccups but was largely successful.
Word around the dog park is that this is the last day of work for Rey Valenzuela, the longtime election genius at @RecordersOffice . We are sorry to see him go. His honesty, transparency and willingness to answer questions has been appreciated. Thank you Rey! You will be missed.

The BOS is getting pushback from the usual group of critics who are upset about library policies. They have switched from election concerns to pornographic materials in the libraries.
The BOS is discussing their new policy of preventing any county employees from playing on Kalshi or other speculative markets involving county issues. @ThomasGalvin says this is a proactive move. And it passes.
Recorder Heap caved. The Arizona Supreme Court handed him a victory, yet he abandoned his own 12-point plan. I voted against wasting $20 million of taxpayer money.
