Lebanese chess prodigy withdraws from World Cup matches against Israeli opponents
——
Seven-year-old Lebanese chess prodigy Loren Bassam Abdelsamad withdrew from two matches against Israeli opponents at the FIDE World Cadets Cup in Batumi, Georgia.
The young athlete from Amatour, located in Lebanon's Chouf region, recently achieved national prominence after winning first place in her category. Her domestic success qualified her to officially represent Lebanon on the international stage at the prestigious tournament.
Her decision follows a long-standing precedent set by Lebanese athletes who routinely refuse to compete against Israeli counterparts in international sporting events to protest the occupation.
British Medical Association votes down IHRA anti-semitism definition to protect doctors criticizing Israel from NHS discipline
——
The British Medical Association (BMA), representing over 200,000 UK doctors, has voted to reject the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-semitism within the National Health Service (NHS).
Passed at the union's annual meeting, the motion calls for an immediate investigation into how the definition has been weaponized to suppress legitimate political speech and professional expression regarding Israeli war crimes in Palestine.
The milestone vote directly challenges a recent UK government review by Lord John Mann, which used the IHRA framework to recommend mandatory training, a ban on political symbols, and a prohibition on NHS staff attending protests in uniform.
BMA members also passed emergency measures to halt the rollout of these state directives, overruling internal complaints from some attendees who alleged the motion itself was anti-semitic. The decision follows a surge in what doctors describe as highly organized, malicious doxxing campaigns and vexatious complaints designed to derail their careers.
High-profile figures, including emergency doctor Nadeem Crowe and British-Palestinian surgeon Ghassan Abu-Sitta, have faced suspensions and regulatory overreach by the General Medical Council (GMC) over social media posts, leading the BMA to legally oppose the GMC's right to appeal and repeatedly investigate doctors cleared of wrongdoing.
Fanatic Zionist Hillel Neuer is the product of a private, but taxpayer subsidized, Jewish supremacist Montreal school network.
Recently, the longtime head of UN Watch boasted about seeking to destroy the life of Francesca Albanese and her husband. After labelling the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories “the leading purveyor of the genocide libel”, Neuer told a Jewish News Syndicate Summit in Jerusalem that Albanese “is banned [from] the United States! She cannot use a bank card! She cannot use a debit card! She cannot receive a payment! After she was sanctioned, we got her husband … he was demoted from his position at the World Bank for incitement to hate!”
Because Albanese criticizes his beloved genocidal state, Neuer openly brags about successfully lobbying the US government to upend her life.
Among “top 100 most influential Jewish people in the world”, according to Israeli newspaper Maariv, Neuer leads a group that bullies those who promote equality and international justice. UN Watch campaigns against food aid to starving Palestinians. To assist Israel, it seeks to weaken the international legal system and the UN in general. As I told him four years ago, Neuer is an “anti-Palestinian bigot”.
Racist fanatics like Neuer don’t fall from the sky. They are the product of a family and/or educational system.
Neuer credits Hebrew Academy for his commitment to apartheid. A National Post profile notes, “he traces his skepticism of the UN back to high school and the Hebrew Academy in Montreal, where he wrote ‘an article critiquing the UN’ for the school newspaper. ‘So it is documented that I was skeptical of UN bias from about the age of 15 or 16,’ he says wryly.” Elsewhere, Neuer has said Hebrew Academy equipped him with a strong sense of moral clarity and Jewish values.
The kindergarten to Grade 11 Montreal private school bombards its students with Jewish supremacist messages. The school raises the Israeli flag and high schoolers are pushed to travel to the lawless apartheid state. Israeli emissaries lead kindergarten classes in “fun IDF programs” and the school shows students movies celebrating the Israeli military. Students send gifts to soldiers on IOF bases and Hebrew Academy says they are “beyond proud” of alumni who join the apartheid army.
A dozen private Jewish schools in Montreal promote Zionism. According to B’nai Brith, 7,000 children attend Jewish day schools in the city, which is more than half all the Jewish school age population. In a page listing all the schools they assist, Montreal’s Federation Combined Jewish Appeal boasts that “research shows that graduates of Jewish day schools are more likely to … maintain strong ties to Israel…87% of graduates say Israel is an essential part of their Jewishidentity.”
Incredibly, Quebec taxpayers pay over half the schools’ costs. Private schools in Quebec receive over $5,000 per student in education ministry funding. Additionally, the schools receive funds from the registered charity Federation CJA and are able to provide tax credits to donors themselves.
In other words, all Quebecers and all Canadians are subsidizing schools that indoctrinate students to defend Israel no matter what it does to Palestinians, Lebanese, Iranians or others. Quebecers and Canadians are subsidizing schools that convince students to join a foreign military. We subsidize schools that produce students who work to undermine the United Nations and international law, which Canada claims to support.
This must end.

The images of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya are shocking evidence of Israel's abuse against Palestinian detainees. Dr. Abu Safyia has been arbitrarily detained for one and a half years without charges.
Israel must release all Palestinians arbitrarily detained.

The campaign against human rights defenders seems to be at its hightest. Everywhere.
And so shall be the determination to protect human rights, which are not a gift. They are conquest of decades of struggles of women, men, people who fought for freedom.
And so shall we continue.
“Like everyone else, I was shocked by yesterday’s knife attack in north Belfast. My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim, and I wish him a full and speedy recovery. The police must now be allowed to carry out their investigation and ensure justice is done.
“The actions of one individual must never be used to stigmatise an entire community, nationality or faith group. Every day, serious crimes are committed by people born and raised in Northern Ireland, yet we rightly do not hold whole communities responsible for the actions of individuals. The same principle must apply here.
“We are already hearing deep fears from minority ethnic and migrant communities about the potential for a racist backlash. People are worried about their safety, about going to work, taking their children out, or simply going about their daily lives.
“We cannot allow violence against one person to become an excuse for violence against many others.”

The decision by the Bureau of the Assembly of States Parties, a political body dominated by Western states and their allies, to suspend ICC Prosecutor Khan, despite the exculpatory findings of both the judicial panel that reviewed the case and the OIOS oversight body, can only be seen as just the latest step in a long campaign by the Israeli regime and its US and other allies to obstruct, delay, and punish the prosecutor and the court for their attempts to hold Israeli regime perpetrators to account, and to send a message to judges and future prosecutors: ‘challenge the Israeli regime and we will crush you.’ The full Assembly must overturn this scandalous action, and take concrete steps to protect the court and prosecutors from Israeli, US, and Western persecution. If they fail to do so, the still nascent ICC will whither and die on the vine, and with it, any hope of international criminal accountability in our time.
The sexual-misconduct charges against Karim Khan have nothing to do with the validity of the charges against Israel's Netanyahu & Gallant, which were upheld by a three-judge panel of the International Criminal Court. Israel is shameless to argue otherwise. https://t.co/3bXRHKc8V9

BREAKING - A Swiss Tribunal recognises the legitimate right to peacefully oppose the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
One again: justice for Palestine starts at home. It only takes people caring and applying Intl Law. And persevering.
A small victory against racism, colonialism and genocide. Congratulations to everyone who emailed and to David Suzuki for withdrawing from a forum established by the Jewish National Fund. Now we need to press other participants to withdraw from the Zionist greenwashing event and the Suzuki Foundation to sever its ties to wealthy genocidal Jewish supremacist donors.
After Just Peace Advocates and the Canadian Foreign Policy Institute instigated an email petition campaign calling on the prominent environmentalist to withdraw from an upcoming Climate Solutions Prize (CSP) event, Suzuki announced as much. The David Suzuki Foundation released a statement quoting their namesake noting, “I would like to thank the many people who have written the David Suzuki Foundation and me to provide more background on the upcoming Climate Solutions Prize Festival. I was unaware that the event was initiated by the Jewish National Fund Canada, a controversial group that has had its Canadian charitable status revoked. Knowing this, I have declined the invitation to speak."
Suzuki deserves praise for withdrawing. As I detailed a week ago, CSP was instigated by the racist JNF of Canada with support from the Israeli government.
Other participants in the CSP should be pressed to follow Suzuki’s lead and withdraw from the June 8-9 Israeli greenwashing conference in Montreal. Representatives of numerous ‘greenish’ or ‘leftish’ organizations are set to participate in the CSP event, including a representative of the FTQ union federation’s Fonds de solidarité. Former Quebec premier Jean Charest is also on the bill.
But the bigger story is the Suzuki Foundation’s ties to wealthy Zionist donors. In response to my post announcing his withdrawal, former Vancouver city councillor and chair of journalism at Langara College, Anne Roberts wrote: “I do appreciate David Suzuki's swift cancellation of speaking engagement at the Jewish National Fund Canada. But that’s not the main problem that has been exposed here. I was shocked to find out that wealthy Zionists like Jeff Hart and Stephen Bronfman have been on the Suzuki Foundation board for past 20 and 30 years, raising money that has been used to greenwash Israel’s racist colonialist polices since its founding and now continuing genocide in Gaza. I hope that members of the Foundation take this opportunity to examine the source of its funding. After all, war, particularly the war in Gaza and Lebanon, is a terrible loss of life and contributor to climate change.”
Should Bronfman be on the Suzuki board? Head of fundraising for the Liberal Party, Bronfman was exposed in the Paradise Papers leak of offshore financial documents to be linked “to a $60-million US offshore trust in the Cayman Islands that may have cost Canadians millions in unpaid taxes.” A 2017 CBC article also revealed “how Bronfman’s longtime law firm — which also represented other offshore clients — helped mount a lobbying campaign in Ottawa that for several years fought legislation designed to crack down on offshore trusts.”
A year ago Bronfman told the Canadian Jewish News Donald Trump was “very good for the Jewish people.” An ardent Jewish supremacist himself, Stephen Bronfman is a scion of the most important anti-Palestinian family in Canadian history.
David Suzuki’s withdrawal from a forum instigated by the racist Jewish National Fund offers an opening to deliver a major blow to the apartheid greenwashing Climate Solutions Prize. It’s also an opportunity to press the Suzuki Foundation to sever its ties to wealthy genocidal Jewish supremacist donors.
I, together with ICC judges and Palestinian HR defenders, need your help to counter US admin's abuses.

Many thanks to @FranceskAlbs for detailing below some 20 sources spanning over many years and providing ample evidence of Israel’s systemic torture, including rape and other forms of sexual violence, against Palestinian prisoners. The @nytimes article by @NickKristof is just the latest of many, many, many well-documented reports and testimonies that most governments chose to ignore, silence or bury.
