@DaUppercrust I am aware. We had treaty relations with the Dutch, and many of us in America have Dutch ancestry. That's another story for another day. The trade routes were still usurped by the Slavs overtime.
If this photo was taken in 1935, then it definitely suggests that they’ve been fading long before the 1900s. Which once again shows that there was a worldwide maritime culture. Post 1492 Blacks have a hard time understanding this for whatever reason.
