We are gravely concerned about the people of Ukraine.
Russian attacks on several Ukrainian cities mark the beginning of invasion.
This escalating conflict has put the lives of millions in immediate danger. As we have witnessed, civilians often pay the highest price in war.
10 years ago today we lost Marie in a targeted strike by the Assad Regime in Homs, Syria. She dedicated her life to expose the human cost of war, making sure these voices wouldn’t go unheard. She was not only a great war correspondent but a light in the lives of all who knew her.

On this day we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A disruptor, a martyr, and a hero. May we use this day to reflect on his work, and may we use his words to reflect on our own impact on the world around us.

"Thursday’s landmark ruling by the state court in Koblenz marks a first step towards justice for countless Syrians who suffered abuse at the hands of President Bashar al-Assad’s government during the years-long war."

To remember Marie on her birthday, do something she loved: reach out to friends and family, visit an art gallery, go for a sail, host a dinner party, mentor a colleague, laugh a lot, lend a shoulder to cry on, write in your journal, help someone in need.

The Taliban promised to respect press freedoms, but is now targeting media workers to keep the story contained. Without journalists to bear witness, it's impossible to know what is truly happening. We are committed to protecting the safety of journalists and civilians alike
To celebrate Intl. Day of Charity, we're highlighting the importance of charity in providing humanitarian aid. COVID added more strain to communities in Yemen already struggling with extreme food insecurity. The crisis is still severely underfunded, help us make a difference!
We believe every person deserves secure living conditions free from oppression and violence. To that end, we are working with trusted partners in Afghanistan to evacuate civilians in dire need of protection. Consider a gift to help us carry out this vital work
We're celebrating women's equality day by empowering female journalists through our journalistic education goals. Female journalists are targeted at a higher rate than men, threatening freedom of speech. Without them, half the world's population loses its voice #womeninjournalism
Eight years ago today, the Assad regime launched a chemical attack in Ghouta, Syria. The death toll could be as high as 1,700 people, most of whom were civilians. MCMF strives to aid victims of war, like the Syrian people who have lived through a decade of war.
The Marie Colvin Memorial Foundation honors James Foley, whose life was taken while he was held hostage by ISIS during his coverage of the Syrian Civil War. MCMF supports the @jamesfoleyfoundation and their work. Journalists should not be targeted for doing their jobs.
On July 11, 1995, Bosnian Serb forces overran Srebrenica. At least 8,372 Bosniak men and boys were executed, while deporting 25,000 women and children. We honor the anniversary of this tragedy by remembering the victims and supporting victims of war around the world with our work
These words ring true almost twenty years later as we face prolonged war and displacement across the globe. Each of us has a role to play not only in bearing witness to these events but taking affirmative action to stop this suffering. Join the MCMF to make a positive difference
The 2021 #WorldRefugeeDay focuses on the power of inclusion. Given the chance, refugees will continue to contribute to a stronger, safer and more vibrant world. MCMF believes in the support of refugees around the globe to be protected in healthcare, education, and sport.
In contrast to many European nations, many countries in Africa continue to have an 'open door policy' for refugees and displaced persons. It is our duty as global citizens to help those in need. #refugeeawareness
Refugees are a particularly vulnerable population, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our fight against the virus must not discriminate. #refugeeawareness#COVID
"[In a world] increasingly hostile to immigrants and refugees, we believe documenting the real-life plight of those fleeing war and oppression is as essential and important as ever and a vital call-out to the conscience of the entire global community." –– the Hunger Ward Team
