BREAKING: PlayStation has officially been community noted on their post announcing they will no longer be producing physical games.
The Community Note states:
“Digital purchases grant a revocable license to access content, not ownership. Sony recently removed hundreds of purchased StudioCanal movies from libraries due to licensing.”

Surprise how much support physical media has gotten. It scummy how Sony is doing away with physical in 2028. I won’t be buying gta or a ps6 down the line if it’s digital.
Rockstar reportedly told Sony to remove GTA VI's branding from the PlayStation App after the disc controversy got too hot
Sony killed physical discs for all PlayStation games starting January 2028.
The backlash was instant.
Politicians calling for regulation. KFC and Domino's publicly roasting them. The internet turned on Sony overnight.
A week ago Sony had GTA VI everywhere.
App icon changed. PS5 dashboard taken over. Store completely redesigned. No PlayStation game has ever gotten that treatment.
Now all of it is quietly gone.
When Rockstar doesn't want to be associated with your decisions you know it's bad.
So silly that “statistically” people are not buying physical copies of games these days when the biggest game in history is releasing as a digital copy. This is single player and RDR2 released with a data disc and game disc. Online released in the months after.
Bad news, The European Commission has responded to the “Stop Destroying Videogames” initiative and decided not to make new laws about games becoming unplayable after support ends.
Apparently those sneaky meetings with Ubisoft CEO and other companies did their job.
Instead, it plans to bring together consumer groups and the video game industry to discuss better end-of-life practices and possibly create voluntary guidelines.
The Stop Killing Games campaign said this was the outcome it expected. It is now shifting its efforts to the European Parliament, where it hopes to add protections for players through the upcoming Digital Fairness Act.

The Afroman Trial.
-Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons.
-Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up.
-No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman.
-Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras.
-Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives.
-During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat.
-The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation.
-Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit.
-Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them.
-One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife.
-As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE.
-The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman.
This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.
It's just going to get weirder and weirder and weirder...

ARC Raiders landed in hot water after computer engineer Timothy Meadows discovered the game was silently logging players' private Discord direct messages to a plain text file stored locally on their PC — along with Discord bearer authentication tokens that could potentially allow unauthorized access.
The issue only affected players who had linked their Discord accounts to the game. Embark Studios quickly responded, confirming the Discord SDK had captured more data than intended, while assuring players that no messages were ever transmitted to external servers or accessed by developers.
A hotfix has since been rolled out disabling the problematic logging, with the studio also announcing a deeper audit to prevent similar issues down the line.
