This past week I attended the AETFAT 2025 Congress. I had the privilege of meeting many skilled and inspiring scientists from around the world.
I also presented my research on East African Ipomoea. A rewarding experience to share my work for which Iโm incredibly grateful. ๐ ๐ฑ

My first day of fieldwork is a fact! We are again a little step closer to revising the #taxonomy of the East-African #Ipomoea. It was a pleasure working alongside @kagame_sp and Simon Wachira. I learned a great deal!
@KewAfrica @KewScience @UGent_Botany
I had the best first week in Nairobi, Kenya. Thanks @kagame_sp@chalo_mutiso, Simon Wachira and the people at @uonbi and @DiscoverJKUAT for making me feel welcome. Very grateful that I got to meet such great people and experienced scientists.

It's fantastic to see these two budding #planttaxonomists @KewScience #herbarium, putting their heads together to revise #East#African#Ipomoea species. Such an interesting group - night flowering and with edible storage roots - but so many knowledge gaps!... Stay tuned :)
It has been 2 weeks of greatness at @KewAfrica studying #ipomoea specimen with @Marie_Declercq from @UGent_Botany under the supervision of @anaritagsimoes from the great carbinets of @KewScience Thanks to the #EmilyHolmesScholarship for funding my visit and making this successful
The best project meetings happen at dinner table! Paul Kagame (PhD JKUAT) and Marie Declerq (MSc U Ghent) talking #taxonomy of East African #sweetpotato wild relatives, #herbarium specimens and fieldtrips to Kenya. And filling my kitchen with beautiful smiles :)
