“A nation that does not accept to die, will never die”
𝗪𝗲, the Armenians, come from the deepest roots of human history. We have battled the demons of a forgotten past. We have fought the wars that fate placed before us. Through every trial, we have prevailed to preserve our identity and our faith. Amid the chaos of our long and painful history, our will has never broken, and our spirit has never faltered, even as our borders were constantly reshaped. The Genocide of 1915 claimed the lives of 1.5 million Armenians, nearly 78% of the entire population. Men were disarmed, rounded up, tortured, and executed. Women and girls were harassed, raped, kidnapped, and burned alive. Innocent children were massacred. The elderly were left to die under the scorching desert sun. As a result, over 150,000 orphans were left alone at the crossroads of life, forced to struggle through unimaginable hardship, yet still carrying the burden of preserving the existence of our nation.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆, the Ottomans, sought to erase over 4,000 years of Armenian history. Armenian towns were destroyed, literature burned, ancient cultural treasures demolished, and vast lands, over 80% of the historic Armenian Highlands, were occupied. To this day, denial persists. And as long as crimes like this go unrecognized and unpunished, the cycle of genocide continues elsewhere in the world.
𝗬𝗼𝘂, the educated and conscious youth of Turkey, those not bound by politics or denial, you carry a responsibility not only to your own future, but to humanity itself.
Will you acknowledge the truth?
Will you recognize the Armenian Genocide?
Will you be the voice that allows the souls of the perished to finally rest in peace, knowing they are not forgotten?

And have behind over a thousand years of proof.
🇦🇲 Armenian Red Army Soldiers Dancing “Kochari” In Heart Of Fallen Berlin — May 9, 1945
81 years ago today, soldiers of the Soviet Red Army's 89th Tamanyan Division, the only Armenian national division to fight all the way to Berlin, linked arms in the rubble of the fallen Reich and danced Kochari. The children of genocide survivors stood victorious.
More than 500,000 Armenians served in the Red Army during World War II, over 300,000 from Soviet Armenia alone, more than one in five residents of the entire republic. More than 200,000 never came home, a per capita loss among the heaviest of any Soviet nation. They fought at Stalingrad, at Kursk, in the defense of the Caucasus, and in the storming of Berlin itself, and 107 received the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
Five reached the highest ranks of the Soviet military: Hovhannes Baghramyan, Marshal of the Soviet Union and front commander; Hamazasp Babajanyan, Chief Marshal of the Armored Troops; Armenak Khamperyants, known as Sergey Khudyakov, Marshal of Aviation; Sergey Aganov, Marshal of the Engineering Troops; and Hovhannes Isakov, Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union. More than 60 rose to the rank of General.
The 89th Tamanyan Division, under the command of Major General Nver Safaryan, helped defeat the German garrison in Berlin and was awarded the Order of Kutuzov for its role in the battle. When the city fell, the soldiers did what Armenians have done for thousands of years. They linked arms and danced the Kochari their grandfathers had danced in villages that no longer existed.
After everything, they danced.
✝️🇦🇲 The Balyan family was a prominent #Armenian#Christian family of #architects in the Ottoman Empire, originating from the province of Kayseri, and produced nine consecutive generations of craftsmen.
The Balyan family developed a unique architectural style by blending Europe's Baroque and imperial styles with Oriental ornamental style. Apart from passing down their knowledge and experience from one generation to another, the Balyan family succeeded in modernizing themselves and ensuring they were not forgotten.
The first prominent "Palace Architect" from the Balyan family was Kirkor (Krikor) Amira Balyan (1764–1831).
Kirkor began his career as a mason and rose to become the first major "Palace Architect" (Hassa Mimarı) in the family. Among his notable works are repairs and additions to Topkapı Palace, the Sarayburnu Palace, several imperial mosques (such as Nusretiye Mosque), and fountains in Constantinople.
He also built the first Balyan family mansion in Beşiktaş. Kirkor established the tradition of transmitting architectural knowledge from father to son, laying the foundation for the family’s dominance in Ottoman imperial architecture for nearly a century.
Senekerim Balyan (1768–1833) – Brother of Kirkor and co-founder of the family’s architectural legacy. He collaborated on several imperial projects, including repairs to Topkapı Palace and the construction of the Beyazıt Fire Tower.
Garabet (Garabed) Amira Balyan (1800–1866) — Son of Kirkor. He was active in Armenian community educational and administrative affairs and conducted research on Armenian architecture. One of his early works was the Armenian Hospital in Yedikule. His most important achievement is the Dolmabahçe Palace, which he designed and built together with his son Nigoğos; it is considered one of the finest 19th-century palaces in the world.
Nigoğos (Nigoğayos) Balyan (1826–1858) — Eldest son of Garabet. He co-designed the Dolmabahçe Palace with his father and contributed to the original Çırağan Palace (later rebuilt) as well as other projects such as the Ihlamur Pavilion.
Hagop (Agop) Balyan (1838–1875) — Son of Garabet and brother of Nigoğos and Sarkis. He designed the Küçüksu Palace (Göksu Pavilion) and the Ihlamur Pavilion.
Sarkis Balyan (1835–1899) was the most outstanding figure of his generation.
His notable works include the rebuilt Çırağan Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace, the Valide Sultan Kiosk, and many other imperial buildings.
He had broad interests in the fine arts, supported Armenian writers, musicians, and theater actors, and served as a member of the Armenian Patriarchate’s Assembly.
Sarkis was not only a brilliant architect but also a gifted engineer and inventor.
He developed and patented innovative mechanical devices, including a rotative steam engine and a non-explosive sectional boiler.
These inventions earned international recognition, including an award at the London International Exhibition in 1862, and helped modernize construction techniques in the empire.
He was granted high titles, including Chief Architect of the State.

The Aramean Syriacs and the Armenians are among the oldest peoples associated with the early history of Christianity. Aramean Syriac Nation were among the first to embrace the Christian faith in the 1st century AD, while Armenia is recognized as the first state in history to adopt Christianity as an official religion in the early 4th century AD.
These two peoples are bound by a profound spiritual and historical heritage, reflected in their preservation of faith and identity across centuries despite numerous challenges and transformations. Together, they represent an essential part of the earliest roots of Christianity and have demonstrated a remarkable continuity that extends from before the Common Era to the present day
