Happy summer from the #beproudbedale library squad!
Btw, the matching shirts were planned, the completely matching outfits were not - we’re just so in synch! I’ll miss you next @kierstenand4, but luckily you’re not going far 😆
The #BeProudBeDale LMC is a busy place! In just one period, ss from 5 classes were:
-researching on chromebooks
-playing homemade math games
-riding the bike
-brain break with the puzzle
-working with TAs
-discussing book groups
-reading
-getting help finding books & recs!
Just a few of the amazing comics the #BeProudBeDale 5th grade made with Pixton, based on their book club books! Such creative representations of scenes from Aru Shah, Percy Jackson, Coraline, Wings of Fire, and City of Ember! @Roshani_Chokshi@rickriordan@neilhimself
Who knew learning about dirt could be so fun? 5th grade was so engaged learning about compost with help from @SciShowKids and designing their own compost bins! #beproudbedale
This week in makerspace: 4th grade learning about circuits with the #makeymakey I love to see the collaboration as they play a song together! This performance is from @MissMacDonnell’s class #beproudbedale
5th grade is learning about the Big 6 research model this week and applying it to their History and Me project. Great conversation and ideas from @missmckenzie15’s class this morning! #BeProudBeDale
New book alert! This is going to be popular! One student in particular has been waiting a long time for this book, so when it was delivered at the end of the day, I knew I had to rush to deliver it. There’s nothing like getting a book you’ve been waiting for! #beproudbedale
My day was made by Asher in @mrschamblin1’s class who told me “Makerspace makes everyone’s day better. It’s like learning but it’s interactive and fun” 😍 I have to agree with that! #beproudbedale
EDUCATORS and LIBRARIANS: do your students like graphic novels?
I’m giving away 2 class sets (25 copies each) of my new one, The Hunger Heroes: Missed Meal Mayhem (here and on Instagram)!
To enter: RT this tweet and follow me. Bonus entry: tag a pal who might like to enter too!
This week in makerspace, 5th graders used @NASA’s Eyes on the Solar System to research a planet and design a greenhouse for growing plants there. I can’t wait to see the models they create next time! #beproudbedale
#beproudbedale 4th and 5th graders learned all about the Pacific Northwest tree octopus… and then learned that you can’t trust everything you read online! Research is the first step to any makerspace project, and now we know how to look for credible sources
