@PeteATurner MLB has a market size parity problem, not a strict parity problem. And fans don’t care specifically about parity. They care about any market being equally able to compete. That couldn’t be further from the truth today.
@BMeek23@JayRBP@skraxxy I’m not anti revenue sharing. Feel like that’ll be impossible to pass but would be a huge fan of MLB getting closer to NFL level of revenue sharing.
@_24kin Dodgers and Yankees get to buy out their mistakes. They can be riskier and it absolutely pays off. If the Brewers sign a free agent and it doesn’t work, it could derail and entire window. That’s the difference. Stop arguing in bad faith.
@AngryMariners If you tore up every contract and made everyone a free agent for 1 offseason, the Yankees, Dodgers, and Mets would immediately be favorites before a single signing. Broken system.
@_24kin@BelieveTheLand I think it’s awesome a mid market team like KC can build a super team in the NFL. No one can accuse of them purchasing rings, they literally drafted/developed/coached better. Fans love to hate dynasties like that
@BNightengale I’m pro player in general but they won’t get a lot of sympathy from fans whining about their $300m payday while the Dodgers purchase a 3rd World Series. Make it a high cap so players reap the rewards but I’m so sick of large market teams being the only winners in this league
@skraxxy@JayRBP I’m also pro player here. Reduce control years, institute a high floor, require strict financial audits when cap setting, etc. I just can’t stand knowing the bottom 20 payroll teams already have no shot to win a World Series.
@skraxxy@JayRBP I’m not mad at the NFL for allowing the chiefs to go to three straight superbowls. Fans love to hate dynasties but we don’t question the sport when it happens. It’s awesome a small Midwest city can build a super team. The royals will literally never be able to do that.
@JayRBP@skraxxy If you make every player a free agent and have one massive free agency, the dodgers and Yankees would immediately be favorites before a single signing. Broken system.
