@lokayatasya@NotTriggerAtAll@ac122333@cmhrrs OP is Indian, they don’t hate PIE because it means their language didn’t originate in their country. It’s a political thing for them.
@MWRQUES@cogitomorrer Palavras nativas portuguesas tendem a ser paroxítonas por padrão e oxítonas em alguns casos previsíveis. Qualquer outra colocação é resultado de empréstimo ou cultismo.
@GNCL1139@southevropa Brazil is a multiethnic mess partly because it’s a huge country. Zoom in and the regions become more homogeneous, like Hispanic countries. I also think Portugal failed to integrate Brazil earlier. Peru and Mexico had universities in the 16th century; we only got them in the 19th.
@houndofiberia19 Msm sendo brasileiro nunca entendi esse ódio aos portugueses. Até algumas décadas atrás éramos todos pobres fodidos ñ importa o lado do Atlântico. Além disso descendemos dos “colonizadores” na mesma proporção, quiçá até mais, que os portugueses. Há outros motivos também.
@PalmyrPar I think one overlooked aspect was the conspiratorial, esoteric vibe that was only fully captured in AC1, then gradually diluted until it died in Revelations. AC1 feels like you’re looking at something you shouldn’t be seeing. Animus intrusion and the sci-fi are some others.
@RectalAnarchy69@umm_nyanyway My native language, and various other Romance languages, have fully neutral demonstrative pronouns, some even have articles, that managed to survive to this day. The story is a lot more messy, but that’s basically it.
@RectalAnarchy69@umm_nyanyway masculine mostly to keep the duality with the feminine, that, interestingly, can even be argued to be the only true gender in modern Romance because it’s marked unliked the masculine/neuter that is generalist and generic. However, it’s not like neutral completely died out. +
@RectalAnarchy69@umm_nyanyway The masculine is the neutral due to phonetic convergence not sexism. You would know that if you knew a bit of Romance history.
@snowvics@FuxkCruz@umm_nyanyway@quuubi It wasn’t due to sexism that masculine is used, but to the phonetical convergence between the masculine and neutral. In fact, it can be argued that the only true gender in some Western Romance is the feminine, masculine and neutral are one and the same in most cases.
@naoNAOporra@cardboiraccoon As complexidades duma língua não se transferem às outras necessariamente. Diferentes línguas são complexas de diferentes formas.
