made some bad trades but seeing some (not so random, but seemingly random) coins run to millions (15m for cupsey) suggests we might finally REALLY be back.

if we are, it's probably thanks to $ANSEM. nothing else was able to bring us back so far (not whitewhale, penguin...)

@XeusXchange @badattrading_ yeah i know. me it just feels wrong to take money that isn't mine, which is different mentality from most of CT . the dev didnt have a treasury (which is why the bounty was so low), so i would've drained other peoples' deposits - if i took a % that would have come from those ppl.

Two weeks ago we moved our family from California to Tennessee, and today confirmed everything we hoped for.

We watched our new community’s Fourth of July parade and ran the neighborhood 5k this morning, and tonight there’s a fireworks show, all without leaving the neighborhood. The kids on our street already pulled our two boys into their bike club. Neighbors met the moving truck and helped unload before we even arrived. We’re buying meat and cheese from a farm fifteen minutes from our house.

We came here for the community, and for a place built for raising a family instead of one that seems to punish you for it. We loved California, but every year felt like paying a tax for having kids, wanting safe streets, and trying to run a small business, even with family nearby to help.

Today I’m grateful to live in a country where you can pack up and choose a different life, and where the people who live there actually want you to have it.

This country is great, and I’ll never stop being grateful for it.

my own home insurance goes up about 10-15% per year, that's higher than the rent increase cap here! THANKFULLY property tax increases are capped even though a lot of idiots complain about that

prices don't go back down for consumers IN PART because they also don't go back down for everyone in the chain up to the consumers (and yes, IN PART because, if they do, someone along the way pockets the difference for themselves)

something i’ve realized watching all of this play out

a sandwich that jumps from $8 to $14 never goes back to $8. rent that climbs from $1,400 to $2,200 stays at $2,200 forever.

gas, groceries, insurance, all of it. prices only move in one direction

inflation becomes permanent the moment everyone accepts the new number.

and we always accept it because we have no other choice

then workers ask for raises just to survive the prices they had nothing to do with creating.

and suddenly they’re the problem. they’re “hurting the economy” by wanting to afford food

the economy for who exactly.

because whoever it’s working for it sure as hell isn’t us

like eg rent goes from $1,400 to $2,200 sucks for renters but property taxes, insurance costs, materials costs for repairs, replacements, maintenance, labor costs, salaries and overhead (for bigger companies or property mgmt companies) all go up and often don't come back down
