The Commander of the Land Forces of the Somali National Army Sahal Abdullahi Omar today welcomed the Commander of the Land Forces of the Republic of Türkiye Metin Tokel at Aden Adde International Airport, where the visiting commander and his delegation were received with full military honours at the start of an official visit to Somalia.

The visit reflects the deep brotherly ties and strategic cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, whose role in rebuilding, training and developing the Somali National Army has made it one of the country's foremost defence partners. The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two armies in defence, training and the exchange of expertise, in support of Somalia's security, stability and development.

A Training on Fish Stock Assessment Was Held
Students studying at the Faculty of Marine Sciences at City University were today given a training on Fish Stock Assessment.
This training was delivered by experts with deep knowledge and long experience in the assessment and management of fisheries resources, who shared with the students their valuable knowledge and experience.
The purpose of this training was to enhance students' understanding of the modern methods used to assess fish stocks and the role these methods play in the development of sustainable fisheries.
The training was attended by the university's Deputy President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Yasin Barqadle, along with directors from the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy, namely:

Abdulkadir Abdinor Yusuf — Director of the Department of Fisheries production and Development
Ikaran Mohamed Abdullahi — Director of the Department of Human Resources Development
Abdifatah Abdi Aden — Director of the Department of Planning and Policies
Raisa Mohamed Mahmoud — Director of the Department of Blue Economy

In conclusion, the officials encouraged the students to further strengthen their knowledge and skills, so that they may play an important role in protecting and developing the country's marine resources.

The Director General of Mogadishu Port, H.E. @AmbAmerico, received a formal invitation from Port of Seattle Commission member Ms. @HamdiSEA & was warmly welcomed by Ms. @HamdiSEA and Commissioner Mr. @SamChoTweets.

During the meeting, the H.E. @AmbAmerico briefed the Seattle Port Commission on the significant progress and reforms implemented at Mogadishu Port, highlighting improvements in operations, the various services provided, the new Mogadishu Port Project, and ongoing development plans. For their part, the Seattle Port Commission presented an overview of the management, operations, and world-class services of Seattle Port.

The two discussed how to strengthen bilateral cooperation by establishing a Sisters Port Partnership, aimed at promoting the exchange of expertise, professional training, technical cooperation, and capacity-building programs for Mogadishu Port staff.
