As more New Yorkers use injectable medications, more Sanitation Workers are getting stuck by needles & syringes thrown out incorrectly. STOP!! Place items in a leak-proof, puncture-resistant container, like a laundry detergent bottle, seal it up, label it, and place it in trash.
DSNY is taking steps to increase the fine for improper disposal of needles, from $100 to $250.
Keep Workers safe. Keep NYC clean. Avoid a fine.

I am heartbroken by the death earlier today of a New Yorker who was in City custody and receiving medical care at the Outposted Therapeutic Housing Unit at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, a facility dedicated to those with acute medical needs.
My thoughts are with his loved ones as they grieve this tragic loss.
As is protocol for any death in City custody, the Department of Correction and its oversight partners will conduct a full investigation into the circumstance surrounding it.
I renew my appeal for an end to the ongoing violence against the Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank, and I urgently call on the international community to work toward advancing the two-state solution, for a just and lasting peace.
You took apart an entire dresser piece by piece, moved a gigantic basin, and you dumped it on the side of the road?????????
We cleaned up after this bizarre behavior in the Bronx, but YOU COULD HAVE PUT THIS OUT FOR CURBSIDE COLLECTION!!!!!!
Did you finish a small do-it-yourself project at home? Here’s how to get rid of it, correctly! https://t.co/Qa2Z6TVKta
On July 1st, 2026, a Bronx County Grand Jury indicted NYPD Inspector Jeremy Scheublin on eight criminal counts, including:
• Attempted Rape 1st
• Sexual Abuse 1st
• Assault 2nd & 3rd
• Unlawful Imprisonment
• Forcible Touching
• Official Misconduct
• Obstructing Governmental Administration
The indictment alleges the offenses occurred on January 1-2, 2025.
Earlier today Inspector Scheublin was arrested.
As I stated earlier EVERYONE including NYPD cops are innocent until proven guilty and deserve due process but with that being said how did @NYPDPC allow him to remain full duty for 15 months during this criminal investigation that now has formal charges attached?

During our weekly prayers, I reminded her how lucky she is to have so many things to be grateful for: loving children, people who visit regularly, stability, etc.
She cordially replied that what matters most is that her soup is almost ready… 😄
Running for office demands everything, physically and mentally, yet the mental toll is often overlooked. Staying strong means prioritizing your well-being as much as your policies.

NYPD detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested Zahir Davis for the senseless murder of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre in a park in Queens last week. Davis fled to Jamaica following the shooting and was arrested immediately when he landed back in NYC last night.
I am devastated by the killing of
16-year-old Marquise Byfield, a student whose future was taken in an instant.
This evening, I spoke with Marquise's mother and expressed my deepest condolences and my heartbreak for their entire family. She shared that Marquise was just weeks away from starting his first summer job —something he was excited and hopeful about.
No teenager in New York City should ever fall victim to gun violence, and no family should ever have to endure this kind of pain. Every shooting death is a tragedy, and it is especially heartbreaking when a young life is taken far too soon.
This horrific act is a painful reminder of all that we still have to do in tackling the scourge of gun violence across our city.
My administration is committed to doing everything in our power to prevent tragedies like this and to build a safer city for all New Yorkers.

#Peace is not something we must invent: it is something we must embrace by accepting our neighbor as a brother or sister. We do not choose our brothers and sisters: we must simply accept one another! We are one family, inhabiting the same home: this wonderful planet that ancient cultures have cared for over millennia. #ApostolicJourney #Cameroon
A 15-year-old kid was beaten and shot to death at a Southeast Queens playground yesterday. And somehow this isn’t the top story. Credit to AG Letitia James & BP Richards for speaking up.
Where is everyone else, including @NYCMayor Mamdani?
Outrage shouldn’t depend on zip code. Every child deserves protection.
Call NYPD at 800-577-TIPS if you know anything.
We are spending at least $500 million a day to bomb Iran.
Imagine how many teachers we could hire, how many public housing units we could build, how many bridges and roads we could fix, if we spent that kind of money on improving life for working people?
A contractor paid workers $10–$18/hour on jobs worth $70/hour. Used a shell company to hide them. Told them to “get into a porta-potty” when inspectors showed up.

It’s shameful that New York State legislators can time their retirements to rig succession for party insiders rather than candidates nominated by voters.
