One year ago, a violent attack on our Capitol made it clear just how fragile the American experiment in democracy really is. Here’s my statement on what the anniversary means, and what we need to do today.
@theRealKiyosaki It saddens and disturbs me deeply to read this post. Reminds me of 2015 Trump called McCain "loser" for being "captured" and tortured in Viet Nam. I pray for financial gurus who try to talk politics. I pray for readers who blindly agree with them. Kiyosaki is a troll.
@austinkleon Just read this. I'm fascinated with analogy between writing and gardening. You can decide if your darlings are simply dead flowers or roots. And if you're unsure, just separate and replant them anyway and see what happens.
@ramit Case studies, to be honest. I like practical tips, strategies, principles, etc., and examples that illustrate how to use them, but I do not care for stories about people's lives using the ideas or principles.
@chrisguillebeau I agree completely. You would probably mix in something with non-conformity - e.g. reaching FI in weird, unconventional ways. And likely it'd include side hustles, $100 start ups, and quests.
@JohnButman I was saddened to hear of John's passing last year. I've only just found out recently. John, you were an inspiration to me. Your book Breaking Out has changed my thinking and life in incredibly deep ways. You'll be missed.
@ramit We could go the Robert Kiyosaki route: go to school; get good grades; get a good job that offers good benefits; invest in your 401k; spend below your means; save for a rainy day; live debt-free.
