@marcusryder purely grammatically it's tautology because experience is lived (that's what makes it experience). maybe it began when people who had lived through something were arguing with "experts" and wanted to EMPHASISE that they had first-hand experience, not just theoretical knowledge??
@JahDuran It's not easy. Jung himself said "I have such a hell of a trouble to make people see what I mean." And the collective unconscious is probably his trickiest concept. But the Anthony Stevens book (recommended by others here) is about as clear as you can get.
