@pmwallace@EssexPR With stamp duty etc. on top it will damage aspirational purchases. It’s another cost on top of everything else. The property market is already in reverse and so much for the labour build back better policy - how many are they or anyone else going to build with prices dropping
@pmwallace@EssexPR The knock on impact on house prices will hit all house values though will it not? Which will then impact the building industry (where costs to build will continue to increase) and house building will slow down. Rich house owners won’t be the only ones impacted?
@DuncanStott@_jaylawrence We should also make sure that the tax collected is spent well with little wastage. No business looks at revenue alone and the incompetents in charge here (and everywhere else) aren’t spending it wisely enough so taxing more is not the only answer
@BladeoftheS Micro view of economics! When lots of people look to sell up, house prices drop which has knock on impacts right throughout the economy in job losses, lower tax income for gov, reduced consumer spending and an overall slowdown in the economy….. which impacts the poor mostly
@naked_auditor So when loads of people start selling houses supply > demand = house prices dropping = slowdown in house building = construction job losses = less spending = job losses elsewhere = increased benefits/less tax income and slowdown of wider economy = everyone screwed
@Tiger7192926603 Hugo not going to be part of our next successful team so may as well put a youngster in to learn as Hugo offers v little anyway. We make so many bad decisions- Lynch opting to shoot for goal on the run rather than the easy handball the pick of the bunch
@Sean_Lunt Why are the players out on the piss with a final game still to be played and why do we have an awards night pre the end of the season. This game had already been written off.
@lukeWilko1878 Not exactly blessed with depth though. And I’ve not seen anyone pushing their case too much when they have played. I think we have A LOT of poor players and are doing well to be mid table. Bottom 3 level striker and full backs
@bmay Labour = shite
Tories = shite
Reform = shite
Greens = shite & nuts
Lib Dem’s = shite & irrelevant
The state of UK (and global) politics today. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, they’re just varying degrees of shite (unless the greens ever got in - then we are totally screwed)
@Benjwinst Always will be the case as a lot of clubs are playing poker with each other and waiting for one to either drop price or increase offer. Putting a deadline on things means they often go to the wire
@owenjonesjourno Does it matter to you that she’s a plumber? I couldn’t care less what our MPs jobs were but I do care that they have the right experience and competence to be an MP. The biggest issue the UK has is that the vast majority of people in government (right or left) are utterly useless
@ZackPolanski Exactly why the country is going so poorly. At the ballot box we have a choice of various incompetent fools (I couldn’t care if they were a pundit or a plumber if they were any good). No one with any real talent or intelligence wants to be an MP so we end up with egotistical duds
@susan_bagheri@Heccles94 Under your economic model does it not mean we would be even better off to give everyone in society welfare because they would also spend more? Maybe no one should work?
@xMaccaEFC I agree Patterson should play RB but the criticism Moyes gets is WAY over the top from some. We all know we have massive holes in the squad and the bottom line is Moyes has done a great job to have us where we are at present. I’m loving being stress free for the 1st time in years
